Anybody have any recommendations for a good tire at Mammoth. It's been 12 years since I've raced up there not sure what's good to run now.

Also anybody written a 350 in the 450 class? How smoked did you get going on the start up the uphill?

It's pretty hard to beat the Dunlop MX3S. But whatever you do, run at least 13.5 lbs of pressure in both front and rear. Flat tires are a regular occourance at Mammoth.

x2 on this. When I worked for a shop we were the tire vendor up there and we sold a ton of heavy duty tubes after guys would get flats in practice!

X3, I run the Dunlop MX3S with 13psi.

Anyone else going vet weekend?

I race my KTM 250f and it's slower up the hill but feel faster in all the corners and maybe some more endurance with the altitude .

As others have suggested, HD tubes are a wise investment, and you can also run a 110-90/19 if you're currently running a 120-80...Way less HP at 8,000' (especially if you aren't going to run decent fuel)!

MX3S or Pirelli MXMS are solid Mammoth tires...

MX3S front but I like the MX52 rear be sure to check tire pressure before each moto if you're at 13 in the morning you could be at 16 in the afternoon. Let the air out of your forks. Do all the extra cardio work you can. Go to Johnny's Pizza for a Chicken Parm dinner the night before. Grab two or three chips out of the bucket when choosing your gate pick drop the higher numbers back in the bucket. Good luck and have fun

Rear IRC-MB5.
Front Bridgestone - ED11 If you can fine one?
If not Dunlop MX3S should work ok.
With HD tubes you can run lower pressure.
Try to carry your speed through the corners and have fun.
