Hes definitely deserving in the sense that he's good enough. But not doing mx sends the wrong message. Guys are gonna come and say he shouldn't have to prove anything. Well, if he wants a ride like Red bull ktm then yes, he does have to. If he's fine with what he's doing then keep doing what he's doing.

And Malcolm hasn't done anything on a 450. At least with McElrath theres potential. Your ceiling with Malcolm is a top 5 once or twice a year.

I dont wanna sound like a negative Nancy because I like Malcolm and I want him to do well. But theres a reason why he's scrounging every year to find a ride, and it ain't his speed. We will be having discussions like this one every single year until he calls it quits.

Yes Mc Elrath who pulled out of the 250 class to get a ride this year. The same Mc Elrath who is trying to get back in the 250 class again next year. Whoosh he is setting the racing scene on fire for sure. Hope he gets a ride on a 450 but him over Mookie in supercross is comical.

I'm on board with him. I said I like him and hope he does well. Looking at it through a factory team perspective, I want to see him out there proving he wants to be a full time racer. Lots of other very talented guys had to do it and it paid off for them.

I would hire Malcolm to ride over Jmart and Mcelrath any day of the week. Just based on whoopspeed, genetics and flair alone! I would like him to stay with motoconcepts but dang.. If the stars would align for this kid it would be an incredible story!

Mookie has grown on me but Mav is correct with Mookie wanting to sit out the summer-he doesn't have that kind of pedigree (MC, JS, CR). And JMart is a warrior, a year round racer who is good indoors and out. Mav I'm a little suspicious of Shane M though....I dunno, my spider sense tingles when it comes to him and I'm sure I'm buying what he is selling. His best rides have been Mookie like at times, straight up fast, but he has thrown in a bunch of eggs too so I don't know.

Redbull KTM. Not enough promise to chance him Roger wants a complete rider and one without baggage (nothing wrong with family but)
RMATV KTM, gear issues


If he is on KTM, the only team i expect he could be at would be Tedder with Davalos. Its SX only, factory parts are obtainable and he might keep Seven.

or he goes private again in which case parts accessibility is a key factor

Malcolm's 450 career has been a trainwreck in management. Starting the series late 2x, no desire to ride outdoors, leaving MotoConcepts while we are in the Covid tank come to mind as bad management examples. He's talented, but I've never understood the Mookie fever for a guy who has never had a big bike podium in his chosen field of play (SX). Ironically he has a moto podium on the big bike in the field of play he doesn't like to partake in.

No one seems to hate on Hill or Friese for racing half the year
Hill has gotten a lot of flack over the last few years for playing around and not putting in the work. That got him from riding for a factory team to a privateer team as well.

As for Friese, he's done a lot of outdoor races, raced outdoors up in Canada, and is not making/asking for a lot of money. Not to mention he's not the same caliber of rider as Hill or Malcolm.
