Madison Bumgarner hurt on Dirt bike

4/21/2017 2:43pm
Did any see Bumgarner got injured riding dirt bikes? Wonder if there will be any repurcusions. Odds are there is something in the contract regarding this type of activity.

I see ex Dodger Jeff Kents dad, Allen a couple times a year. He is a long time hard core racer in the 60+ class. He said when Jeff was playing, that moto was a definite no-no and in his contract that he couldn't ride. Not that he didn't sneak off once in a while. Does anyone know how bad he was hurt?

Probably not this year,Possibly in the off season .Any guaranteed money could become non-guaranteed. If any physical issues(throwing)linger, because of the accident ,come spring training or next season the team is off the hook for money owed. Again, just one of many scenarios how it could play out.

I love all the ways the guys get injured and try and cover it up. Jeff Kent was "washing his truck", joba chamberlain was "jumping on the trampoline", lots of dudes hurt "picking up their kids" and "tripping over something at night"

Ron Gant lost about 4.5 million back in 94. Had just signed a 1 year deal with the Braves and broke his leg in a dirt bike crash in the off season. Contract was voided

Jason Pierre-Paul blew up his hand with fireworks and watched $60 million dollars go bye bye from the Giants. He has since got the big bucks but he had to prove himself again.

Funny you say this. We saw Jeff Kent at Cycle ranch maybe in 2003. He was riding a suzuki rm 250.

Never heard of a "cred" clause in a baseball contract.

Rob Nen is a big Moto guy and all around good friggin dude. I wonder if he and Madison are buds...And as a D'backs fan, it doesn't hurt my feelings Bumgarner is out for a while. Now if we just get Kershaw on a bike......

Surely you have some insight on Bum's injury. I know there's not that many people in Granite Falls and I would imagine he has more than a few relatives in town who know the scoop. Inquiring minds want to know! Silly

Lol! Goldy needs to get it together and start playing like he's capable of. That said the snakes are off to a decent start for a change. Hope its as fun of a season as SX has been.

I've been out of town for the last six months so I'm out of the Al's Diner loop right now. The local, his mother in law goes to church with my mother in law, fourth or fifth hand spin on the deal is all over the map. Anything from 'He nearly got kilt one one of them blame motorsickles.' to, 'He's just skunt and banged up a little.' If I hear anything from somebody that knows for sure I'll post it up.

Mad Bum is not Ron Gant. I am sure it's in his contract that the Giants could get some recompense but there is absolutely no way they would. Mad Bum is a beast on the mound and an amazingly great hitter. Dude hit two HR's opening day. Dominated several World Series games, carried the Giants to three Championships and is still in his prime. If the Giants voided his contract he would be in for a huge pay raise. The thing about Mad Bum is he don't give no F%&I$ like anyone. That's why he is one of the best pitchers in MLB history. Dude's a living legend. This just makes him even more awesome. He's the Chuck Norris of baseball.
