I’m looking at going to MXoN with my chick and was wondering if you guys would share how much it has cost in total... hotel, rental car, tickets, etc.
Also I’m only 20 so can I even get a rental car in Michigan. Lol. Money isn’t a huge issue but having transportation sorta is.
I know it’s a somewhat personal question but I just wanted to get a ball park on what I’m looking at spending.. thanks boys!

Hotel, in Old Buffalo suite $107.00 a night
Costco car rental mid size 5 days $240
VID gold ticket $700
RV rental 4 nights $500
RV space $200
Weekend tickets $130 per person
Plus food and drinks for 4 days and RV fuel.
I’m probably spending $800-1000 per person when it’s all said and done.
The Shop
I’m hoping to drop less than 300 total but I’m in Michigan.
Just imagine if you were on the other side of the world from this and still going?
Budds 2007 was a 20 hour bus ride (each way) for us. It was seriously one of the best things I've ever done in my life though. Sadly this one isn't in our cards....
Hotel I booked in Elkhart, IN last week using points = free
So basically, I’m on the hook for whatever the tickets and food cost.
I just booked my hotel last week using points, so I guarantee hotels in a 50 mile radius are not even close to being sold out. Whenever rooms start to get scarce, they don’t let you use points.
I’m driving up Saturday afternoon to watch the races on Sunday (unless it rains, in which case I’ll stay home to watch). I really don’t care to watch practice and qualifying.
In my case, I’m figuring on spending about $200 per person (including food).
Weekend is $130.
Pit Row
Skip the motel room, camp in the vehicle. To clean up, head to the Pilot truck stop by South Bend, that costs $12 a person. Since you’re alone, (cough cough) a huge saving over the motel. I think there used to be a truckstop right at the intersection of the two main highways east of the track, but I’m not sure it’s still there.
Camping pass: $220
Entry Thursday-Monday: $125 x 2 (I think)
Food and booze: $300
Cost to attend last years in Jolly ‘ol England? About 6k
I think if you're over 21 you can rent just about anywhere but they wack you a pretty hefty fee (I rented cars while attending community college, i want to say the fee was something like 25$ a day when somebody was underage. Doesnt seem bad until you had the 25% in taxes most rental cares have on them on the base rate for local/airport/city/etc taxes).
