The guy doing the ballot mentioned something about France getting something like gate 8 or 12 I think and then opens up the ballot and low and behold he pulls out 8.

So someone explain me this... heard over the pa today they were racing for a gate pick? Did the draw only refer to qualifiers?

Ballot was at random and determined the gate picks for the qualifiers.

Results in the qualifiers determined tomorrow's race gate picks.
