Early October in west Michigan is usually quite pleasant. Fall in this part of the country is typically 50-60f and dry. However, it could be 80f and sunny or it could be 25* and snowing, we've had the full range. It is on average less wet then Europe is in the fall.

This year Red Bud had to cancel their grass race due to unusually wet conditions. I think they tried running it on 2 different weekends in October and it was cancelled both times. That isn't the norm though.

I can tell what is supposed to be, but it will have no relevance to what it will actually be.
Be prepared to watch the weather close to your trip. Weather here is Michigan is really, really unstable.

Just 2 days ago, it was 56F and all the snow melted. Then 6hrs later, it was 15F and the ground completely covered with 2" of snow.

I live in Northern Indiana about 40 minutes from Red Bud. October weather is a little unpredictable that time of year, but normally it would be in the 50s (F) for a high. At the worst of the weather spectrum, we've had snow and below freezing temps in mid-October and on the good end, sunny and 70F.

Weather aside, you should make the trip. Red Bud is called America's Motocross Track for a reason. Absolutely awesome facility and track layout.

Advice is to bring the chic in your avatar. Dressed the same way. Except more American flag.

Careful... The locals think Brits taste like venison.

You got the basics for weather.

All kidding aside, I am also combining MXdN/MXoN with some great fishing in the region. What a blast!

Red BUUUUUUUD!

If I wasnt relocating to Socal in the next week, it would already be BOOKED!!! Im trying to go bec I want to go soooooooooo bad!! Im in Norcal at the moment and all my friends that would go are married with kids and cant commit to shit. I really dont want to book this for a solo adventure it just wouldnt be as fun as it definitely will be with just one other buddy. However Im pretty confident I can hit up one of my buddies from Socal that'll be down to go.

If you fancy a national in 2019 message me. I'm wanting to fly over from the UK next year but none of my mates are interested.

What budget airline are you flying for $130?

Well general admission on the mxgp website is £98 per person and camping for the weekend is £150 so what ever that is in dollars? That’s according to the mxgp website unless there’s something else Iv missed.

If it helps to have an English persons perspective that now lives in the Red Bud area I’d say it’s going to be about 12-14c. So you’ll probably want jeans, hoodie and a light jacket.

The weather here in Chicago can vary from year to year but I’d say you are unlikely to get a mudder. (Fingers crossed)

I’ve got people coming over from the U.K. to the event and that’s the info I will share with them

Spot on. The humidity isn’t bad that late in the year. The past couple years we’ve had a nice long fall where it was still hitting the 70s in October, hopefully that happens again this year. Otherwise like you mentioned it can get chilly, and especially overnight or in the morning.

I’d still bring a set of summer clothes for the day and a light jacket and pants for the night time or if it’s just a colder fall season.
