Calvin Vlaanderen is 22 years old, with the age rule in MX2, I don't believe that KTM will hire someone for only 1 year.

I actually think they might just to bolster the squad, if they don't have solid young talent. Calvin is on an up trend and it would be better to have him at KTM for one year with Prado, then say Prado were to get hurt and Calvin is the next best guy, would you want him at HRC to take away the title or also at KTM so he scoops it up.

If everything goes well, its also Prado his last MX2 year next year.. With the new rule that you can only have 2 titles.. Prado will most likely win it this year and with Jonass gone next year i dont see anyone being close to Prado over the whole year..

My guess is that KTM going with 2 good riders next year and start Shopping for 2 good young riders like a Geerts,Watson or some one else and most likely Hofner after racing one year EMX250 and some wildcard GPs.

I heard the GP's are shutting down ....they all coming to the USA.
I guess they would all be out of a job then since this is American Motocross

Vlaanderen to KTM would be a good move for both.
Put Hofer in EMX250 in 2019 and mx2 in 2020.
And use 2019 to sign the best available talent for 2020.
All while you have a strong #1 and 2 in 2019.

According to OTOR Paulin knows where he will be racing next year and simply has little to race for now at Husqvarna he is just mailing it in and staying injury free.

Interested to know where that will be, Wilvo maybe?

I would put Paulin to new BOS Kawasaki team with Searle. New team manager is from France also. He was doing better with Kawasaki than he´s been Husky.

They already have their 2 guys. Bobryshev and Searle. I'd be very surprised if they find the budget for a guy like Paulin

Paulin was also really good on Yamaha back in the days.

None of the teams will want a 1 year rider, MX2 is going to get interesting, i think 12 riders age out at the end of 2019.. thats almost half the field for flyaways.

Vlaanderen will want to stay red, he has the backing of HSF, and will want a 450 ride. If Bogers doesnt deliver , he will be the man.

Not sure if he has the backing of HSF.

Tbh i'm hoping hsf is going back to running a team after their deal with hrc ends. Imo mxgp/mx2 can use a team with spots for riders, and i cant thibk hsf is getting much value right now.

What’s up with TKO this year, seemed like he was better last year. Sophomore slump?

TKO started out the season strong and was definitely the best non-KTM on the track early on. But then Watson, Covington, and Vlaanderen sort of upped their games and TKO seemed to have more bouts of inconsistency and bad starts.

That 's true. I just realised that a few years ago they had a young talent at KTM and they let him go. This kid got Honda a worldtitle in MX2 (and MX1) a few years later.... Still hurts.
With Calvin they'll have a backup in case something happens to Prado and they prevent Honda from taking the title away (again).

There was some talk JVH could go to the Italian Yamaha support team (forgot the name) with factory bikes, but he wanted a salary. There are 2 spots open right now right? IceOne and Standing. So that leaves a spot open for Anstie at Standing and JVH at IceOne? Can't see any of these teams taking Monticelli to be honest

Standing has Coldenhoff and Guillod for next year, I thought?
I think Van Horebeek goes to Ice1 Husqvarna and Paulin to Wilvo Yamaha. Really don't know where Anstie should go. Not so much options anymore.

Guillod wants to race in the US next year.
He is searching for an 250 ride.

Well... Plessinger is moving up. There is a spot on Star Yamaha. But that is basically the only free 250 spot? Unless he wants to ride on a B or C level team. Maybe West Coast 250 SX on a BUD Racing Kawasaki?

Actually 3 good spots if i'm not mistaken:
Ice one (although Jasikonis has not been confirmed yet)
Standing
Wilvo

Free riders:
Paulin
Anstie
van Horebeek
Simpson

And Guillod & Strijbos.

This also kind of assumes Nagl will continue at TM, but i have no clue if he has a multiyear deal.

If we could get this Guillod back, I'd be all for it

Another rumor.. Jonass moving up to the MXGP but is gonna be placed at Ice One next to Jasikonis. Makes sense since it the other spot was a big guess. Looks like ice one want to invest in young riders. Good move if this happends. Paulin needed to make room for Jonass..

To make part 2 off his rumor, this would make a open spot for JVH to go back to the team where he was a few years on the MX2 days

That would mean MXGP lost 4 factory rides in 2 seasons.

in 2017 we had 3 KTM's, 3 husky, and 2 Suzuki's.
In 2019 we would have 2 KTMs, 2 Huskys and 0 Suzukis.

Not good.

If vlaanderan jumps ship from mx2/HRC I would love to see Beaton get that ride. I tried very hard to get info from his mother when I saw her last but she wouldn’t tell me a thing unfortunately.
