Has anyone heard of any rumors that some MXGP riders may show up to race Pala and possibly Thunder Valley? The MXGP season is supposed to start the weekend after Thunder Valley, so it could be considered a few "high intensity" warm up races for some of those guys. I know this is probably highly unlikely to happen, but it would be very interesting if some of the MXGP riders show up.

I would love to see this happen... but COVID restrictions would probably be a hassle

Covid, tight budgets and not many injured riders(good part ofcourse) will make this a hard one.

If there will be some guys lining up i expect it will be from the KTM/HUSKY/GASGAS group.

Would love to see Herlings give it a shot and he has the balls to do it, but will RB KTM let him?

It would be great to see some of the top MXGP stars race here for the start of the US series. Maybe in a different year, without travel restrictions and quarantines, we might see that happen.

So many GP guys have had success here over there years, I hope there continues to be an exchange of sorts if/when life ever returns to normal. They often come here toward the end of the US season, so there's usually already some attrition in terms of talent on the starting line for the US riders. But, for example, when Herlings rode Ironman a few years ago there are few, if any riders in history that would've been able to keep up with him that day.

I'm still hoping Desalle shows up to race the whole series as a surprise.

He'll be pleased to know that despite some of those OG Monster girls getting up there in age, they still like to party.

I thought he retired from MXGP, was play riding Yamahas for fun, and said he'd be open to doing the AMA Nationals if an opportunity arose.

If it would have been a month earlier, some of them would maybe start. Now it is too close to the start of their season

There's plenty of racing in Europe if they want to race, they dont have to travel all the way to US and go through long flights, jet lag and expenses

Why race here? Nothing in it for the rider, team or manufacturer.
Remember those same words being used for American riders for the Nations race. It goes both ways.

For a warm up for there own series. That’s a pretty big one there. KTM for example could send them down to Bakers for a couple weeks race some nationals and have mini motos with Musquin, Webb and Osborne. It will not happen but there would be value in it. Come into Rd 1 fully ready to go. The nations race is at the end of the year usually a month after the nationals end when guys are resting and getting into SX mode. Nice cast, but a miserable fail.
