Back-to-back GP weekend. After winning every single race and GP so far, will the dominance of KTM be broken? Additional classes are EMX300 and EMX250, who will race their first round of the series.

In favor of keeping the championship alive, I hope for:

MXGP
1. Cairoli
2. Van Horebeek
3. Herlings

MX2
1. Prado
2. Sanayei
3. Jonass

Interesting that James Dunn is entered to ride EMX250, I was under the impression his main focus was the 300 class with a few 250 rides thrown in.

Awesome. Prado will be good here. I think the track also suits Lawrence. Hope it doesn't suit jonass Cool

Sooo who are you guys predicting as the big hitters for EMX250?

I would guess, Charboneau, Sabulis, Moosdijk, Sihvonen, Boisrame and Forato from last years riders. Renaux will most likely be out front too, he rode pretty good at Valkenswaard in MX2. I believe Tropepe rode MX2 last year so he could be fast now that he drops down. James Dunn and Steven Clarke could be dark horses.
Then there’s a whole bunch of guys stepping up from EMX125. Will be interesting to see how they’ll do, but obviously Moreau, Facchetti and maybe Horgmo could mix it up near the front. Too bad Haarup is out, he looked really good in preseason.

Is Sihvonen fit again?
Man there are so many good riders.
The ones you named can all win I guess. Also Reneaux, Pocock, Cislaghi, Martin Barr. There are like 10 or 15 that can podium on paper.
Hope Moreau does good.
And will be interesting to see how Jett Lawrence does. Top10 would be a good start I guess. Is he 14 still or 15? Roczen and Herlings showed it can be done at that age, winning GPs at age 15.

Well, Charboneau was 5th last year and many guys who finsihed close to him (Lesiardo, Furlotti, Fernández, Weltin and Geerts) left to MX2. I think he and Renaux, Forato, Boisramé, Sihvonen and Goupillon are the biggest contenders.

Rookies Moreau and Haarup could win too, but not the championship I believe. Haarup probably only misses the first race. Sabulis disappointed a bit last year and he's gone privateer this season, so won't be easier for him. Wonder what the other guys of Philippaerts can do (Lapucci and Van de Moosdijk).

Not 100% yet, but it’s a long season. He rode decent while he was injured last year, so I hope he could put together a decent result this weekend.

Holy crap I just forgot Lawrence completely. I doubt he’ll be a front runner but really interesting to see how he does and how he progresses during the season.

But yeah, talk about stacked. Usually there are some guys that really step it up from the previous season and surprise, like Lessiardo last year. Should be a interesting season.

Jonass has been riding there a lot during this winter meanwhile Prado was injured.

Track looks super fun.

I might move to Valencia(90km from Red Sand) for 4 months(September-December) this year through my school as an exchange student. I'll have to get my bike down there and pound some laps at that facility, the dirt looks amazing!

Red Sand is open November to March.

Lucky you about going November/December as you will be able to ride with Herlings, Gajser, Jonass.... literally lots of mxgp teams are training on the area at that time of the year due to the bad weather up north.

Plenty of good tracks around there also. I'll send you some info by pm.

also mel pocock, martin barr, freek van der vlist and hardi roosjorg in emx250 they are former gp riders.
looking forward to this class hopefully goupillon will be strong.
brian moreau, gianluca fachetti, kevin horgmo and mikkel haarup your top 4 from emx125 last year moving up to the 250.
saw Jett Lawrence probably super young idk where he is speedwise.
and a big list of riders that have shown good speed last year. And will Natzke show up he could be a contender bad has had some bad seasons... Really expected him to be in mx2 by now on a ktm...

Youthstream has announced an extra GP to replace the cancelled Swedish GP: On August 25-26 the GP of Bulgaria will take place, at the known track of Sevlievo, wich was visited for the last time in 2014. EMX250 and EMX300 will race there too.

Great track btw! Been there twice, but not a big turnout - maybe obvious - as the Bulgarian people are not that wealthy, but Sevlievo seems to be one of the wealthiest cities of the country. Knowledge of English is very limited aswell.

That track is awesome. Could give Argentina a run for it's money for best track on the calendar. Good to have it back, even though as you said it sucks that the crowd turn out will be crappy.

Last weekend at the first round of the French 250 championship, Mathys Boisrame ended up 2nd, Brian Moreau was 8th and Goupillon was 9th, but they all had struggle at one point. Here's the top 10:

1) AUBIN Arnaud (22-25)
2) BOISRAME Mathys (20-20)
3) RICHIER Florent (16-22)
4) GIRAUD Henri (18-15)
5) DO Thomas (14-18)
6) VIALLE Tom (13-16)
7) CLOCHET Jimmy (25-0)
8) STRUBHART MOREAU Brian (12-13)
9) GOUPILLON Pierre (15-6)
10) DHO William (7-14)

For Horgmo this is like a home GP, because he training a lot during the last months in Red Sand

I have no words to describe how ridiculously stacked EMX250 is.

Charbonneau 29th, Sihvonen 30th in group 1. Sander Agard-Michelsen scored points in MX2 last weekend and finished 29th in group 2 time practice. Last years 125 guys looking solid. The races are going to be great.
