Yeah it's really close to Sochi, about 2-3 hours with a car. The coast of the Black Sea seems to be a beautiful place!

The track looks fantastic, let's just hope the riders turn up. For a privateer it's a pain in the ass to get over there.

The track looks to be so much better than the last Russian GP. That was pretty much a 'pop up' track, that was pathetic.

This one, looks pretty bloody good.

Largely hard pack too. So much better than just endless chocolate cake surfaces. Though, Malin said they were ripping and watering. Let's hope they don't stuff it up. He also said it looks like rain might be part of the weekend. Good stuff.

In 2016 the FIM junior world championship was also held at this track. Looks like a fun one, should be good weekend!

Could Febvre just get a start (which seems impossible) this looks like a track, and dirt, he could excel at.

Yeah malin has become a top notch announcer and hes great alone. I love it when he takes jabs at the tv crew for not staying focused and picking up the action.

Having hundreds of riders spanning unknown kids to the MXGP veterans and talking about them all as personal friends plus pronouncing all the different language names without a miss, amazing

Track looks Great.

But the EMX300 entries this round (15?) are back to the level they were in the first year of the class. I guess it's a bit difficult to get there? I've heard that sort of thing with regards to Bulgaria a few years ago, and Sweden / Finland (but when I go to Denmark to see the relos, it's a piece of piss going over to Sweden, though I'm inevitably on a motorcycle). Is it the logistics of it - start going East and things get a bit complicated? Combos of road and water transport that make things hard? Visa issues with going into Russia? Just curious.

Good to see a new, GP worthy track.

Malin does a hell of a job, considering the amount of races he deals with each GP, and that he nearly always is doing it solo.

MXGP Timed practice just finished, Herlings / Paulin / Febvre top 3.

EMX250 moto 1 coming up in about 10 minutes! Lets go Jago Geerts Cool

@Bearuno in EMX250 same story, only 25 riders total in that class. In the "real" European rounds there is allot more.

My mates lad rides the EMX250 , he has not gone to Russia because of the Visa issues and also there is a lot of time and expense involved for privateers.

This is the most Russian track ever.

Looks dangerous to me far to fast and huge jumps it's scary to watch.

I put Lommel to the Orlyonok circuit just for fun in to Google Maps and it's an over 3000km ride, so that's some distance to sit in a car for a privateer. Add the sketchy reputation of some of the places you have to go through. Looking through the guys that went and I think most if not all of the riders have traveled by plane.

Track looked little one lined today hope they will rip it and water more even for tomorrow. Some jumps looked scary as landings wet and rutted even soft at places.
Sorting out travel plan isn't easy so not many riders there.

I really like this track. I wish it was a little longer, but I have to say it's really cool and spectacular to watch. Check out that view

Palin silky smooth on his little Husky and a pleasure to see the form returning, Jasikonis using his size to muscle his way around, the next Keno?

Herlings needs to figure out how to get out of the gate. It's so odd how this is suddenly a problem

It seems hard to make the diffrens on this track. The layout is amazing though! It looks really nice!
