Indeed. Not only because of himself but this kind of races always have big surprises. How big is the chance that cairoli can go 1-1 . Or Gajser. There's a big chance in kinda mud gp that they are losing points

Cairoli went DNF on mudder GP in Sweden after he parked moto in mud and didn't have skill or strength to get it out... If rain hits hard while they racing... It will be more survive than race time..
Mud and rain... I take heat anyday.
Tony went off course into all the mud/clay they pushed off the corner into a big pile, The Uddevalla soil is rock infested snot when it rains, actually you just count on it raining on the 4th of July weekend there. It's a Swedish tradition

It looks like they've cancelled timed training and the qualification races today and more rain is forecast for tomorrow.

That's a screenshot from our GoPro footage (link's here: http://mxvice.com/64358/track-preview-gp-ofindonesia).

It was definitely the right call to cancel today - practice was more like a beach race than anything else. Some parts (the start/finish area) were rideable, but over the back was just a mess.

It'll be interesting to see what tomorrow holds!

It doesn't look that bad there although I'm sure it is. It looks a lot worse in the Adam Sterry video http://www.mxgp-tv.com/

For a bit of content, our GoPro footagehttp://mxvice.com/64358/track-preview-gp-ofindonesia was from the last lap of the MXGP session. That would have been from the first lap or two of the first session of the day.

Obviously at that point certain lines had formed, but the ruts were bottomless according to some riders. Some are still questioning how it'll be possible to race tomorrow.

Why would you bring all MXGP teams to race mud hole in middle of rain season? Yes - money and spot in calendar.
Proper track or sand track would have been ok.. but fresh mud and rain no.

From Lieber FB-page:

"The weather is pretty bad in Indonesia today and the track is very muddy. Julien didn't want to do the Free Practice to focus on the Pre-Qualifying and Qualifying Race, which he got told after the Free Practice that they were cancelled. Lap times from the Free Practice will count as Qualifying Race! Julien will be last at the grid tomorrow for the races in muddy conditions."

Bummer. Still has the Warm-Up to get to know the track.

JVH in free practice.

Yeah some went off the track to find out there was even more mud. Even mud specialist Simpson went off on that GoPro but didn't let off gas.

Wow. That really sucks for Lieber. I was looking forward to the qualifying races too.

I agree that mud and heat is a part of the sport. But I also think it's stupid to make all the teams pack their stuff and take everything all the way to Indonesia in the middle of their rain season when there is a great possibility that the race simply gets washed away.

I think it makes it interesting. That's why I love motocross, you have to face all elements.

The track looks almost perfect in the womens race. Why did they cancel everything so quickly?
I think it's dried out quite a bit since they cancelled.
Yeah I could guess that, but still looks like a pretty quick decisions made looking at how it turned out. Maybe I'm just bummed that I didn't get to enjoy my morning Red Bull with some gp action like I had planned Laughing

12/18 made it to finish line (3 laps down). Racing line didn't look that bad but was sure difficult for these girls even they are best in World. Some Enduro training sure would have been big help.

Well, you can choose in Indonesia. Do it in the wet season or the very wet season.

I may be a minority here, but I hate mudders. Always have.

Sounds like the mud bath is included for free. Nice!
