Don’t think so, Tommy Searle commented on Christophe Poursel’s instagram post saying he wants a teammate for the British gp. Pourcel has a ride for BOS Kawasaki.

It was joke from Tommy. Pourcel will race French nationals with Bos GP help. You can check that photo again and it doesnt have MXGP logo just FFM Federation Francaise de Motocyclisme. Maybe he could do one off race some rounds but he is retired from full time racing that MXGP is.

Over 90 entries in EMX2, and near 50 in EMX2t.

That EMX2 class is a hell of a feeder class.

Is the EMX2t class still up to 300cc, or, knocked down to 250c?

And, can 2502ts still race in EMX2?
I suspect not - which would be a bloody travesty. Equivalency - in all classes, should be how the regulations are set.

So, if the 2Ts are limited to 250cc, there'll be damned near 180 / 200 250cc bikes at this GP.

I don't know if you can ride a 250 2-stroke in the EMX250 class but i don't really care either. Almost nobody raced them last year when it was allowed. I think one or two of the top EMX2T riders did that last year when they had free time, so in one or two races there were a couple of them at best. I think James Dunn was one that raced a 2-stroke in 2018.

I know lots of people wanted to see this rule but it is proved to be a nonfactor.

I didn’t say Pourcel was riding, more the point the Bobryshev is still injured.

Remember Christophe Pourcel a few seasons ago crashed at Matterley Basin in opening laps and retired from second GP race. Got showered, changed into clothes and was about to drive out of circuit when race was red flagged after Billy Makensie and Tanel Leok came together off big triple jump.

Race was re-run and Pourcel came back to record a good finish.

I think it was James Dunn that won the EMX2 class on a 2t, at Villos' Escargo ( that's what I call it - but Villo "Larry Loop Outed" before it, when I went to that GP) a couple of seasons ago. A bit of a 'mudder', if I recall correctly.

I just see / saw the equivalency clause allowed in the EMX 2 class, as a great precursor towards the sensible introduction of equivalency in all classes. I'm no believer in the then dominance of 2ts, just a believer in the equivalency of 4t and 2t. The sport needs it.

I think it is a good rule and i agree with you there, but i disagree with you on that the sport needs it part. I think the lack of 2 strokes last year made it pretty clear that introducing that rule doesn't change anything for the better or worse.

It was 2011 , apparently Pourcel was in his car , leaving after his crash in race 2 , they red flagged it because of the Billy Mac / Leok crash.
Pourcels team chased him down and he got second overall tied on points with Cairoli !

I'll be there on Sunday, catching the first train from London. Any advice on good spots for visibility and other general tips?

So looking forward to it, it's the first time I'm seeing Matterley Basin.

Last GP I saw was Maggiora '15 when Febvre came back after a crash with a bent handlebar and no front brake in a muddy hilly track.
Awesome race, I was in the uphill near the restaurant on top of the hill.
Them bikes were struggling to get up after the right hander especially the 250s.
Best track I have ever seen the scenery and the layout is just unique, sad they are not racing there anymore.

Due to the track being in a natural bowl you can see the whole track from pretty much anywhere... it’s a great venue for following a battle...

Anybody know who are the favorites in emx250?
#10 Raivo Dankers
#22 Gianluca Facchetti
#24 Kevin Horgmo
#39 Roan van de Moosdijk
#60 Caleb Grothues
#70 Rubén Fernández
#98 Thibault Bénistant
#101 Mattia Guadagnini
#118 Stephen Rubini
#172 Rick Elzinga
#211 Nicholas Lapucci
#303 Alberto Forato
#520 Jimmy Clochet
#711 René Hofer
#720 Pierre Goupillon

Imo these guys are all capable of winning an overall or at least one overall podium during the season, depending on which surface they race on. I think Rubini is the biggest favorite, as he raced MX2 last year and didn't do bad at all, until he got injured.
