Gatedrop: What was it like in the first moto in behind Herlings? It must have been great to learn and pick things up from him..

Evans: Yeah, it was cool. Jeffrey, you know, how many world titles has he got and he’s a bad-ass on a bike. When I was in behind him I was kind of like, okay this guy is really fast, I won’t try to get around him, I’ll just see what kind of pace he sets. Then he dropped his lap time by three seconds and I was like okay, see ya later mate, I’ll see ya at the end of the moto (laughs).

Evans seems to be cool cat. I'm already have a first class ticket in his bandwagon. We need more guys like him to come over, and his debut was ipressive

Given his problems with his goggles, and the loss of his glove, the conditions of the track conditions, he is unfamiliar with, he did pretty well
