Anyone else think that track was horrible? It looked like a "pile up dirt in a parking lot / fairground" type track.

Unpopular opinion.... but i liked the track (flow, the different sections, etc.).

The location, lack of spectators, and no field in emx/wmx is a different story.

That's Luongo's paradise. [Hopefully Coolio will answer my mail and make song about that]

Makeshift tracks, one-offs that are only accessable by the few who pay big bucks to compete.

I agree.. Maybe I'm just easy pleased but it was a mx track, plenty of dirt, plenty of ruts and got pretty fucken gnarly!

I mean if I had to choose I would rather a more 'natural' track to watch but it definitely didn't take anything away from my enjoyment..

I actually really liked the pop up at Switzerland too but that prob had more to do with the atmosphere at that place..

I've never seen so many riders get thrown over the bars mid corner

It wasn't as bad if you compare it to Imola and Qatar for instance. The racing was really good, many passing opportunities. Do I prefer this over a natural track like Ernee/Loket/Maggiora/Valkenswaard/Sevlievo etc? No. Absolutely not.

1/3 of the tracks on the MXGP circuit are like this.

Its a shame that some of the best riders in the world ride on crap like that.

What's so great about Valkenswaard?

The Riders all seemed to think it was okay an the racing was good.

One thing that makes the GP's stand out is the different places and types of tracks.

Would they say anything otherwise and risk upsetting the dark overlord?

Found some highlights on YouTube.

Looks a lot like the Outdoor race at Salt Lake City a couple of years back. Also a little like the Florida race this year. The only thing that seems to be missing is elevation change. Funny how bland a track is without it.

I'm as critical as they come on the GP's , the travel and logistics they all go through, it is truly amazing they are able to make it happen.

MX is about diversity not every race can be Red Bud, or Namur just enjoy it for what it is.

Youthstream gained a lot of experience with one off events over the years ( they are good at it ) however, landscaping is below par ( still too many booblytraps around the tracks imo )... my two cents lightning boom trucks for the overseas GP’s

Well, there's Pala and WW (?) Ranch in this years US series that weren't much chop, if you go by 'natural' elevation and layout.

Pala's had a fair few years to build up whatever elevation it has, and WW pushed up a hell of a lot of dirt to get it's one bit of 'height'. I quite liked WW, both for the GP and the National - Harry's mate Jnr (?) has made a good venue, and I do hope he has the event for a while to further improve on it.

I certainly would rather see races at better tracks than this one, and , I Utterly Despise Luongo, but, well, much of the earths surface is flat ground.

And, of course, so many seem to forget that there's a 17 round 'World Championship' series in the USA, with the occasional visit to Canada, that has, by any comparison to a good Motocross track, atrocious, vicious, nasty little tracks plonked down in footy or baseball stadiums (and in front of one Super Speedways main stand) . Where's the growth ( other than Felds' bank balance - though, it is good for riders with good bonus structures set up, so, there certainly is that in SX's favour) in the sport, through bike sales and rider participation , from that?

These one off GP tracks are a joke. Short lap times have a good look at the size of the signs lining the track, pure horror to go to a flat GP.
With the lap times getting down near low 1:40’s Luongo will have the ammunition to go to the manufacturers and say that the 450’s have outgrown the tracks and give him what he wants that is a 350 class where all the top guys will race and the other classes will be feeder/support series. Ive posted a picture of the size of signs through a great screen shot

I've saved the MXGP races to watch now that the US outdoors is finished. I just watch the Indonesia race and am curious if the Turkey track is as bad as the Indonesian track? I thought Indonesia was worse than Qatar or the SLC track. At least the fans seemed to have a blast, both of them...

I love mxgp, nationals and sx. That said all 5 of the pop up tracks are a complete joke. Visually they are a disgrace to the sport.
