Why do you think it will get hurt???

In his professional career, the only times he's crashed out of a season was in 2010 and 2012 (still won title). Nine years as a pro and only crashed out of two championships. Pretty good track record if you ask me.

Shoot, even Reed has crashed out of more titles than RV.

Age, quality of competition, pressure to excel, real tracks that will bite you in a heartbeat.Different race weekend format, new environment/routine, lack of actual riding time on the unfamiliar tracks and having experience with how they change and develop under a variety of weather conditions the other riders have been adapting too since they were kids.

Make the around noon if you're on the east coast.
It's a Saturday night race in Qatar.
So:
The MX1 moto 1 starts at 6:10pm CET
Moto 2 starts at 9:10pm CET

MX2 is at 5:10 and 8:10pm CET

hope you're wrong about paulin! seriously talented rider thats had some terrible luck in the past. If he can manage to stay fit all season he will be right there in the title hunt (same with desalle) - fingers crossed for them! it will make it better racing for the fans

If Villopoto is healthy and ready he will do very, very well. He hasn't raced since last May, but history is full of examples of racers who have come back from much longer absences and done very well--even won convincingly.

He has always adapted very well to unfamiliar tracks as he demonstrated in 2006, 2008, and 2011. With the large amount of riding prior to the actual racing on Sunday, it is unlikely that track "unfamiliarity" will be an issue.

I can't really say exactly how he will do, because there are so many variables involved. But what I can say is that a healthy and motivated Ryan Villopoto is extraordinarily difficult to beat.

Let the battle commence.

Me too! If he stays healthy he is a championship contender..

So many good riders this year.

I think USA local hero won't end MXGP season healthy because he is not used to real motocross tracks but only to flat roads.

It's a Saturday night race in Qatar.
So:
The MX1 moto 1 starts at 6:10pm CET
Moto 2 starts at 9:10pm CET

MX2 is at 5:10 and 8:10pm CET
I just realized.. Its a saturday race? I thought all the GP's where sunday races.. Great, one day less to wait :-)

So this is depressingly predictable so far. I'll be honest and say I haven't seen enough of (that doesn't mean none) the GP's from last year to say honestly where everyone stacks up. Obviously I'm cheering for RV, but it's Tony's title until someone takes it from him. I believe that if Ryan stays off the ground he has the best shot at taking Tony down, but that is why they run the races. But to be neat and fit in with the rest of the board "RV by like 50 seconds bro! Especially on hardpack! He will stop for a PBR in the middle of the race and slap the local women while waving an American flag. Still lap up to 5th. Sand? Sand is like a mud race. Who cares about those?" or "RV has never seen a bump, elevation change, rock, sand, silt, rut, or anything not resembling a Supermoto track in his soft, easy, pampered life. He will cry, fade, and implode with his amateurish aggressive riding style when confronted with the greatness which are the GP's. He will be lucky to finish the season or sniff a podium. All Americans will then be forced to celebrate GP day every July 4th."
