Wow....

The Assen circuit was a cool event i'll admit, but I really don't love the idea of all these tracks being built at facilities... It's still not MX.

So Maggiora looses GP, is that because 2016 MXON will be there?

I'm definitely going to Valkenswaard.

Hmmm... I really don't think a GP at Charlotte Speedway will work as well as the Assen GP. You need a big crowd for it to work.

all these tracks ?? i think there is a nice diversity in tracks
Assen , people were worried about but turned out to be a nice track with some good racing .. think with this experience it will only get better next time

Happy to see Frauenfeld on the list. It is just about an hour from where I live.

Exactly...it is a lot of $$$ to get a race with Luongo. Beasley said it took him several years to finally break even from the des nations at Budds.

Labor Day weekend, one week after the last national. All but one of the team trucks will be heading west after Ironman.

Yeah I remember, but I don't remember even those being that good. Weren't they basically just a start straight then 2 long rythym lanes on the oval? Building an MX track there will be difficult, I'm all for 2 US GP's, one in the east and one in the west, but for me they should only do it if someone is prepared to do it at a decent track. If someone was prepared to run one at Unadilla, Red Bud, or Budds then it would be worth doing. The last MXGP at this kind of facility in Lausitz was a disaster, with very poor fan turn out, and that was in a country where GP's are generally very well attended

HOLY BALLS!!!!!!! Charlotte!!!! My home!!!! WOW. Talk about the most unexpected surprise of the day!! I was at the last SX they held there in 98(?)

Regarding the $$$...... Bruton Smith (owner of Charlotte Motor Speedway, and many other tracks) has plenty of it. No surprise to me that he'd belly up to the table for this.

Wow.. Still shocked over this...

They are doing a lot of work at Maggiora to get it ready for the MXdN, I don't think it would be ready to host a GP in time even if they wanted to

I don't remember the track layouts very well . I think I have a couple recorded on some old vhs tapes . Glen Helen nonwithstanding it's a tough sell to get a GP at an established AMA national track . There's just no ROI .

Yeah I know I don't blame anyone for not wanting to run a GP, especially running a national too. But the fact that no-one wants to run one at an established track should kill the idea IMO. It says on the MXGP website that race day will be on Saturday in Charlotte, which will be pretty strange

I wouldn't mind seeing it . May have to plan a vacation in North Carolina next year.

I'm totally on board with it. I have enough friends and family in NC to make the trip worth it. I think the experience alone will be worth it.

They used to run Inter am races just up the road in Elkhorn WI in the early 70s . They should clear the foliage and have a GP there . Smile
