I had MXGP on Xbox360 and just got it on PS4 to try out the new tracks you get with that version (which are great btw and will hold me over until MXGP2). I think MXGP2 is going to be the exact same game except some new tracks and customization. The track deformation for example is different in the PS4 version of MXGP than the 360 and it looks identical to what I'm seeing in these videos. Still looking forward to it, but just don't think it will be a big step forward.

And I miss Reflex too. Bought Supercross Encore when I got the PS4 and did three laps and haven't played it since. Didn't want to spend a bunch of time leveling up bikes again. Shame they won't go back to the way Reflex was...

Sidetracking here, but I bought the first game after such rave reviews only to find that it's a drastic let down compared with MX vs ATV. I have to think it's not just game play skills, but maybe I don't have the right bike/physics? Is there some level you need to get to or bike you have to purchase to make it enjoyable? As it is, I'm lost on why anyone would think this game was worth buying.

Level number doesn't matter.
Bikes feels different.. TM is slow af. KTM 450 Factory the most powerful bike of the game. Each bike feels different...
Here's a vid of myself... I played a lot xD

At least for myself, in MX2 the Factory Yamahas were the best and in MXGP, the 450sxf Factory.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge on these things but what is "DLC"? Will that really even be noticed playing the game for a guy like me? What aspects of the game would that effect? Online?

DLC is downloadable content. In other words, if they release things like more tracks, gear, etc you will not be able to buy them. The reason is because games from Europe are linked to the European Xbox or PlayStation digital storefront but your Xbox or PlayStation account is linked to the US store.

If you don't care about buying DLC in the future (if there even is any) then you won't have a problem. You can still play online to race other people though.

Personally I just import the game when it originally comes out and then will probably buy it again here when it releases in the US, especially if there is going to be any DLC. I imported the original one when it came out for PS4 and didn't have any problems. I'm not on Xbox but it shouldn't be any different. The reason why there were issues with importing on the old Xbox 360 was because it used DVD. The new Xbox uses Bluray like PlayStation which handles regional encoding different.
Thank you

You explained it perfectly.

I went ahead and pre-ordered MXGP2 from England. Like you once the U.S. version comes out I will probably just buy it as well.

It's only playable for me in first person view. If you try to play MXGP in 3rd person, it looks terrible/floaty and weird.

I like MXGP a lot. My only beef is the rider has a assisted restart after they wreck, they literally don't lose time in most places...

And how hard it is to make time on people, reflex was the best in that aspect with all the jump combos and sections where if you went WFO it paid massively in track gain. Still pumped to play the new one
i downloaded an edit/update where i have to wait 3 seconds before you get ''respawned''. Reason i got it was actually because it was an update to increase AI strength, and this was an option as well. I like it.

The 1st person riding in the MXGP game has to be the best in mx gaming ever? It really is amazingly good and way better than 3rd person!

Two strokes? It's a game, shouldn't be an issue to have them in? The can even make them competitive!

Physics look awful to me. I didn't care for them in the first MXGP and they looks even more floaty moon gravity like now.
im with ya. looks so slow and floaty. ruts bumps etc. dont even seem to make a difference.just for looks? that sound...
mxgp2 wins for graphics, custom set up with rider, bike.
mx vs atv encore wins for physics and sound.(which still needs love)

hopefully they both have updates to physics and sound. i still dont get how forza and motogp sound and feel so good and mx/sx is so far behind.

ill probably get mx vs atv encore for xbox 1 in may. i think they will be blown away by the sales when one or both nail this sport.

They said there will not be 2 strokes in game bc this game is based on the MXGP Championship and non of the teams uses 2 stroke.

A European 125cc mode would make the game so awesome.

Can you get this in the US before the US release date?

Purchase through the Playstation store maybe?

what a bunch of noobs, complaining about how the game looks too floaty. All that matters is how the game plays. I though the same thing too, about the first one - until i played it. The game doesn't feel floaty, the game actually rides really well IMO. This is a moto game, not an arcade sx game.

Well shit! I saw this thread yesterday and decided to fire up MXGP and there is no resolution for my 34" 3440 X 1440 2K monitor! I picked this thing up because it's the best option available for my racing sims and looks incredible.Only thing better is triple monitors , but that doesn't work to well in some of my sims. Could only get 1080p on MXGP. Hopefully MXGP 2 has 1440p support. 2K and 4K are the future.....this 1080p stuff is old. Bummed me out.....but still looked pretty incredible on this monitor.

Honestly, I would expect MXGP 2 to only have up to 1080p support.

New videos :-)

A lap at Assen.
We can see that we can now rail the berms and ruts.
Also, bad that they didnt give the track that sand feeling...

Compare... how sandy it was IRL and looks like a hard-pack track in game

Customization looks good! Even tho those bike graphics looks 5/10.

Race at Thailand (Still track cutting SickSickSickSick )

That was sick. The most accurate representation of our sport in a long, long time, and all some of you can do is bitch about reflex whips and scrubs. Blows my mind.

The Glen Helen track looks epic, can't wait.

I agree with your point however there is something to be said about the freedom the physics that Reflex had so you could ride free and whip like you were a pro was what captured so many fans including me.

That said, I'll be enjoying this new mxgp2 game for sure! No complaints.

(P.S. Milestone, please approach MxSports with this exact game and duplicate for the US series = $$$)

Close enough for me! The Fasthouse party barn looked on point as well as most of the track. Add a rattlesnake and some drunk blondes, and you have yourself a good remake!
