Slow MX weekend on TV the wife had to work and neighbor is hurt so no riding partners for me on this beautiful Louisiana spring day. I was reading the Loretta controversies post and found it entertaining. I was out of moto for about 12 years through the first wife so I was wondering about other moto controversies I missed. I have seen comments about things like the tire scandal or green laser incident and had to look them up and was wondering what else may be out there.

Carmichael 06 fuel fiasco.

Forget his name but the Russians all took him out and cost him a championship.

Stewart suspension.

I'm still baffled that Sam Jones interviewed Ricky Carmichael for his Off Camera series. Guess he must be a closet moto fan or something.

Did you hear about James Stewart's brief stint in law enforcement?

I heard Pink rides a backflipping machine for her marriages' sake. Richard offered factory parts post nascar but that didn't work out, either. In the end its about Watson, Hanny, tats, and Dairy Queen.

Word on the streets is that King Ktm's wife isn't at work and is in actuality, on a playdate in Centreville, MI with Kdub and Dottie. True story, no controversy.

I did read about that chalked it up to immaturity, fortunately it looks like it didn’t hurt his career to badly though. Hope he races a few more times but I seriously doubt we would ever see the speed again. Although I have been wondering lately after seeing Braytons resurgence if we were to see a fit Stewart and even a fit RC could they run up front.

Yamaha filed suit against KDUB for testing Honda bikes while still under contract and no permission. Yamaha eventually dropped it and Kevin denied it.
I'd love to know how Yamaha found out about it. I personally know someone who was there when it happened and I saw pictures. It was only a couple of very close friends and family there when he rode the bike and I think someone from Honda. It was on his personal track out in the middle of nowhere. Someone from Honda had to have said something that got back to Yamaha.

McGrath referenced Donn Maeda in his book, saying that Don published pictures of him riding in No Fear gear before his Fox contract was up. He also got in trouble for riding Jet Skis because Honda didn't produce a Jet Ski at that time.

In 1978 Brad Lackey decided to switch from Honda to Kawasaki and had already signed his Kawa contract for the 1979 season. After his final moto for Honda at the last GP of the 1978 season, he donned a Kawasaki hat for the podium. Honda withheld his final contract payment.

This ad later appeared in all the MX mags.

Speaking of Bad Brad. Remember in 1982, he finally won the 500cc World Championship becoming the first American Champion? But he was running the Simmons USD forks on his factory RM500. Suzuki wanted him to use their works forks, but Brad was convinced the new upside down design was far superior to conventional forks so he refused to remove them. Suzuki was pissed and didn't even offer to resign him for the 1983 season. He achieved his lifelong dream but only got to run the no. 1 plate at one race, the 1983 USGP at Carlsbad.
