Why would they want that?

Honestly, what's the end game there?

The government wants people to be more and more dependent on them. Less and less work. More businesses go out of business, because people would rather just collect unemployment. Tax contributions become smaller and smaller as the workforce decreases. Eventually the only people paying taxes are the ones who are well off, everyone else is on the dole.

So eventually, the rich and super rich are the only ones paying taxes and supporting all the unemployed AND paying them more than they wanted to when they still had their businesses.

Sure does seem cheaper and smarter long term just to pay the people more and collect a higher dollar amount of taxes per person because they're making more money, doesn't it?

Why?

How?

It's a ridiculous assertion. Not to mention the multiple instances of businesses getting inundated with applications once they increase their wages. Business owners all want to pretend they understand supply and demand until it comes time to apply it to their workforce.
The crux comes with how much an employer is willing to pay, as apposed to how much an employee thinks he/she is worth. Then what happens is the employee begins thinking they're worth even more, yet they're not doing anymore work to justify anymore pay. And like TooTall here, they conveniently seems to forget about all the additional cost, like 401K benefits and monthly obligations ( government, commercial and private ) employers are saddled with. Nope it's employers staying up at night thinking how they can underpaying their employees.

It’s a dichotomy. News just said Highest hiring ever in nation right now, so if you aren’t happy working for shit wages it sounds like a good time to search and find a better gig than the one you’re at now. Gotta love America.

266% increase on trucking insurance is proposed by the house. If that passes we can all complain, that there’s no trucking co.s left to haul our parts. Shipping cost will rise 266%. Aprox 38k for new authority insurance, plus 266% increase. I ordered a bunch of stuff, that is back ordered for months. Put a end to riding this summer.

Also, maybe stop trying to equate everything to masculinity. It just makes you look like you have an inferiority complex.

Go ahead and be manly, but there's one problem that has always been the same, which is that if you had to talk about it, you weren't it.

Due to The Zombie Apocalypse...and it’s impact on regular day-to-day operations...
I bought a van.
Then I bought a bigger van/truck.
We’ve started transporting our own supplies and materials. Before long, we'll probably handle a lot of our Domestic Deliveries, too (west coast/western US)
Over the last year we’ve saved more money than can be believed.

Like, ever.....

Curious though - what does one wish to accomplish by starting a thread like this? Remember the old days when you had to drive across town to your local shop (unless it was Sunday or Monday), flip thru a catalog, maybe find the part you needed, but probably not in what brand you wanted, ordered it, then waited weeks for it to show up at said shop? Then drive your happy ass back across town to pick up parts and cross your fingers on the way there hoping they didnt order the wrong thing? I will gladly wait an extra few days to not have to deal with any of that shit.
Not to mention the hours looking at microfiche trying to figure out if the right part or not
