Huge fan here but he didn't exactly set the booth on fire last night did he?

He was probably very nervous but he wasn't sayin much.. Fro is actually pretty damn good... both him and Ralphie are improving "imo"

Fro lights it up outta the booth every weekend. And Ralph doesn't know where he is, ever, or who he's talking about...........I think MC did well.

Yeah he had some awkwardness with his post heat race interview questions. I'd like to give him a five race grace period to get some chemistry going and get comfortable. I did like his interview with James after his heat. He put a big smile on James' face when he asked about the quad.

He seemed clearly nervous. Don't really think he is cut out for it. I really enjoy Fro, and his stutter from days past is pretty much non existent. Ralph would be just fine, other than the fact that he just seems to know nothing about the sport.

I thought mc was quiet, but was still insightful and did a solid job... Fro has been kicking ass lately, much improved...

I noticed Ralph's comments last night made a lot more sense last night than in the past... almost like he was starting to get it

Only took him how many years to get to this point.

MC will get better for sure. How many rounds is he doing before RC comes back?

I'm hoping that next up is Windham. Kevin seems like a natural during the broadcast.

The booth is nothing new for MC. I highly doubt he was nervous. But yes he did come off as very mellow last night.

Ralph's job is not the same as Emig's or Ricky's or MC's or K-Dub's. His job is to say "Red Honda" and "Green Kawasaki" to help the brands get their sponsorship money's worth. His job is to say "Monster Energy Supercross" and "Nuclear Cowboys Holeshot Award" and to transition from key talking points and to different segments of the show. When he does talk about the racing action, it's usually not that great I'll agree, but I don't expect it to be. He's there for the casual fan to follow the broadcast and the racing action.

Might not have been perfect, but I thought it was great having MC in the booth. He would probably get more comfortable with a few more broadcasts.

I'm a huge RC fan, but I would like to see them alternate back and forth for each race.

Ralph sucks doesnt belong in the building. Bring back david baily, keep fro.mc, and rc.. mc will loosen up. Im sure its a whole nother world up there in the booth. Who better to have up there than the king of sx?

tell you what , in the 90s i never imagined for a second that him and emig would be sitting in a booth together doing commentary on good terms.
i'd like to
i prefer him to RC, he's got work to do but i'd like to have him in there consistently for sx.

MC tweeted that he knew he was really nervous & awkward his first night, but who the hell wouldn't be. Cut him some slack. He's a racer, not a race journalist...until now . He'll get better for sure.

Ralph does what he does to guide the show for Feld, Fox, Monster & the other sponsors. He's been around a long time, and knows racing a lot better than people here give him credit for.

Emig is better than ever.

Exactly, Ralph is the play by play guy. He probably went to some type of broadcast school.

x2

If I would get a dollar every time some vitard complains about Ralph, I would be 10 times more richer than Bill Gates. His role is not to do the same thing as Emig, Bailey, RC or MC. His goal is to attract new fans to the show and make sure they can follow it so they do not change channel because that person doesn't understand a thing what is going on ...

That's the same as saying that Jenny Taft doesn't give enough professional advice about riders different racing techniques. That's not her job, that's Emigs job.

For the first time in the big limelight of a national TV broadcast he did admirably. Yes, he seemed quite nervous but definitely seemed to get a little more comfortable as the night went on. I thought he made some insightful comments and will likely quickly get better as he feels more relaxed. I thought he was as good as RC is on any given night, and my wife said she thought MC was easier to listen to than Carmichael.

I think he should be satisfied how it went for his debut.

People will never be happy. MC did well as always and Emig and RC do a great job as well. Giving Ralph shit is dumb because he is well spoken for the average spectator and really not for the die hards, he also keeps the show on track. He does a great job of that and I feel bad for him when he looks here and see's all the negative posts. He loves this sport too. At least he knows that the people that write that are simpletons with zero class thinking they can do better because they just won the window job on the mic at Mickey D's over there dad and grandma.
Now I would like Jeff to never say "seen" or "they have came" again and hope RC never says " why for" again.
1/27/2014 6:45am
I am a big Emig fan, but you would think a professional announcer could use some decent grammar.

His favorite; "he has came here today and really ridden well"

Or: "he has rode great today."

That's not as bad as RC: "I seen him hit that triple."
