From mxbars.net site:
Fragmentary news, but apparently Malcolm Stewart was injured while testing the track for Supercross in Italy in Turin.

For now the news reports of a problem to the bike while he was walking the ramp of a jump, the bike stalled and Malcolm comes short to landing, the consequences are a broken femur, even if it is not officially confirmed ... hopefully good!

Stay awaiting for more details and updates ...

Depends if the break was clean or not. Clean breaks can result in a rod being inserted...riding in 6 weeks. If the break was not clean, the recovery could be quite a bit longer due to how the femur would need to be repaired.

RacerX tweeting no major injuries. He was taken to hospital but Xrays showed no damage. Just banged up.

Whew.

That can really jack ur confidence. If ur bike bogs on a supercross takeoff and you get hurt nothing can hurt your confidence quicker and make you secod guess more.

Yes, and nobody could figure out what was wrong with it.

I broke my femur and had a titanium rod installed. It’s possible to ride at 6 weeks but he won’t be anywhere close to where he was prior to the injury that quickly. I lost a lot of muscle in that leg also.

Didn’t he have a mechanical when battling Barcia @ Geneva two weeks ago?

Riding 6 weeks after a full break? I think that may be exaggerated a few weeks...Unless it is in desperation to salvage a championship or something. The insertion of the rod damages muscle which takes months to be at 100%. I had a clean break and a pin installed. I only have 3 surgical scars, all very small. I walked after 2 and a half weeks....and it was not pleasant. I was not advised to ride for 3 months, and even then they said I should wait (I didn't)

I know they see the best doctors, but 6 weeks sounds quick.

Good to see he is just banged up.

I mean...every factory bike for 30+ years has been “modded to the hills” and these stories are relatively rare.

His bike problems recently seem to be exceptions.

It has been pointed by someone I know who would know and that is the riders quiet often take half bikes and not all the components needed to make a full race bike

Seems every race his Honda is broken down during race. Same thing happened previous race.
Who builds their bikes for these fly away races? Good he is ok and ready for A1.

Totally with the same thought. I'm starting to believe that this is a way to cover his steering errors.

I broke my Femur last December, due to have the rod and four bolts removed in a few weeks.
Riding in six weeks seems unrealistic based of my experience. If I had to ride six weeks after surgery I’d need to be doped up on meds, with a limp and barely any muscle.

Dang, that's a catastrophic bike failure. Sparks and steam instantly come out in the air. Not good
