Seeing Fro doesn’t turn 50 until next week. Thought everything other than youth goes by your birthday and not birth year?

Edit - my bad I believed it because it was on the internet…Fro is +50 eligible

By seeing I mean on social, just seeing if true?

I am pretty sure Emig's birthday is in December and he turned 50 last December.

Ages for youth classes are based on your age on January 1; ages for amateur classes are based on your age the first day of the event.

Damn he's just a spring chicken. I am gonna be 60 in the fall if I choose to acknowledge it. Cool Motocrossers are the only group of people who are happy to turn 30 and then 40,50,60.

Cool, didn’t think someone so “known” would be able to get by with that

He has a real job and is sleeping in a tent at the track with his dog, so on paper he isn’t a contender, but he wasn’t in ‘89, either.
Rt after the 1st turn in 50+ he shot into the lead. Emig split him and Johnson to take the lead, great pass. Then billy shot back and got the lead. Great. Scrapper move. Then his front end did a weird knife dive in a corner rut and threw him off the bike. I would be pissed, his forks look like crap. Must hv sucked hanging onto that 450 , on that rough track.

Pretty interesting comparison and definitely impressive considering Emig was on a 150 and Hughes on a vintage two stroke.

It’s pretty hard to compare lap times in different motos this year. The conditions have deteriorated very quickly.

Not really...There was only two races between them. A schoolboy b/c race and a 65cc race.

I clicked on the link to the day 2 video and scrolled to +45 first. Then I pulled up Day 1 and went straight to +50. Haven't done that before! Loving the hype train for +45, +50 this year.

yeah but the times that were posted above were from yesterdays 250 Pro Sport moto.
For reference here are the times for today (doesn't change much though these old boys are still fast as fuck).

You really have to appreciate the skill and fitness of the 50 plus racers to be so close in lap times to the Pro Sport guys.

I'l tell you this, Jeff Emig is one hell of a skilled racer, because I know there is no track Here in SoCal similar to Loretta's for him to practice on.

Agreed. It’s been a great watch. Keith Johnson’s form on the bike is spot on.

The guy is a SX and MX champion. You may age but you never forget how to ride.
