Supercross Team would have 2 riders in the west, 2 in the east.
Motocross would have 4 riders.
It would be more of a privateer team..
How many bikes would be needed, race and practice.
Rider mechanic cost.
Semi cost in renting, gas and maintenance and driver.
Traveling cost, motels airline tickets.
Parts, tools, and other chingaderas
Also all riders would have matching gear, boots and helmets.
I'm a little tired, I'm sure I missed a shit loads of other costly items.

To be competitive budget $500k per rider. You can do it for less but you’re cutting corners.

In the latest MX Nation (season 4, episode 4) on YouTube/Red Bull TV, the guy who owns(?) Rock River/Cycle Trader Yamaha said it costs about $130k-$150k per rider for his team. He doesn't pay his riders, so that cost is just for the bikes, parts, transportation for bikes and riders, lodging, and probably mechanics.

If i may, why do you ask? I’m assuming curiosity because I would sincerely hope no one seriously considering such a venture would do so based on information even partially derived from anonymous users on an internet message board replying to an off the cuff inquiry of all the costs you could think of off the top of your head at that particular moment. If so you’d be better off donating the money to charity or lighting it on fire because the chances of said venture ending in success would be about as likely as me(C- rider on a good day) beating ET3 in a heads up race on one of his personal tracks.

I contemplated including a disclaimer that “unless you’re worth $100’s of millions of dollars and money is no object and you’re just doing it for kicks”. However, if that were the case you’d have the sort of resources/capital to simply pay a professional analytics firm to perform an extensive cost/opportunity analysis for you as opposed to asking my fellow Vitards and getting Dr. Evil meme’s for responses.

So basically that’s my very long winded way of saying I’m assuming you’re asking out of curiosity?

OP, you might be interested in a thread I started back in 2017. Should give you an idea of cost for SX.

If you’re planning on making a million dollars, I suggest starting with two million dollars.

You might want to stay off the bike until you deal with your balls.

There was such a team as Your inquiring about. The “Blue Buffalo Yamaha” team. The sponsors gave the Team enough money to run a 250 rider on both East and West coasts. Unfortunately the Owner only used about $150,000 and pocketed the rest (Hundreds of thousands) of the money. You have to be all in if you wanna make a run.
