Thanks for sharing! Genuinely appreciate that.

Great and honest interview.
Not riding for about 4 weeks is what every pro rider should do. Regardless if they are a gp or ama rider. To give your body some time to rest and to prevent a burnout in the mid to late 20s.
I wonder if Ricky told him about that place back home called Dairy Queen. Might be a speed secret.
Thanks for posting
Good interview. He had a phenomenal year indeed.
Race Bike: 2018 KTM 350SXF
Other Bikes: 1985 CR80R, 1990 CR250R, 1998 PW80, Specialized Fuse Comp 29.
Sold: 2016 YZ250F, 2012 CRF250R
That was a great interview to listen to. It was very good to hear a little more candid JH84. Being US based, witnessing the burnout of various AMA riders, I completely agree with his take on training and longevity. So very happy that it is down in print for all to read from someone at the top. I look forward to setting up the MXGP package this year and getting more viewing time of these extremely talented riders.
Great interview as always, seems like you guys really like talking to each other. Keep those off topic questions in your interviews Lewis, it gives a more personal view of their perspective.
Also nice to be humble about Coldenhoff his performances at MXON, but you could hear he really wanted to win that one as well. I was there at the podium ceremony and at first he looked a little angry about it (or about losing the MXON title) but when we started cheering for him he had a smile on his face. Awesome year for him, so he really deserved to buy that car and enjoy the off season.
I think Herlings is one of the best interviews in our sport at the moment! He's funny, honest, respectful and confident.
I seriously have a really difficult time to understand the hate he gets from some people. The only explanation i can guess is that those are people who got their opinion of him from when he was 18 years old and since then never have listened to his interviews etc.
Cracking job as always Lewis! Loved that. More of the same for 2019 please

Good interview!!! He wasnt corporate or guarded like most American riders are nowadays. What they are doing is not rocket science. Great to see someone enjoying and having fun in the sport.

The stuff MX Vice does is impressive. Lewis post race podcasts from this years MXoN was way better than all the other outlets (including USA based media outlets)!

I would love to have a race recap podcast after the races too. Similar to what Matthes, Weege and JT does!
That would complete the content that MX Vice puts out for us!

It's funny you say that. You'll have podcasts like that from the start of next year!
Thanks for all of the good comments about the interview! It's appreciated.

A great site overall.
It's a good idea having both the Audio interview and the transcript available.
Having the audio might just stop misconceptions / misunderstandings of what the rider ( and interviewer) meant, plus, show the rapport , or lack of it, between to two.
The MX2 champs interview is good, too.
