MX2 is tough. Maybe Febvre.
I hope Gajser can get a win this season but probably not in the sand

There's a cycle criterium race taking place tonight in Lommel with riders like Tony Cairoli, Joel Smets and even the TDF winner Niballi competing. Sounds cool!

I dont see anyone other than Cairoli in MX1, dont bet against Shaun Simpson to get on the box though, MX2 i think that its anyones race, top 5 is tight as.

Should be good , looking forward to EMX250 showdown

Cairoli 450s, that's a given unless Strijbos really breaks out

250s, I really don't know. When is Coldenhoff back? I'll gamble on Guillod

In MX2 without Herlings, Ferrandis has the best chance of winning. The french was so strong (behind herlings of course) on similar track in finland mid july.

AC222 barring anything insane happening, no one is close to him in the sand in that class.

MX2 is a crap shoot, ill say Febvre, but in that class its a crap shoot with the automatic winner gone.

It's also last race for all the EMX series, so all I really care is if my team rider Jere Haavisto will be able to win the EMX150 series and get the place in EMX250 team for next season. Jere is really good on sand, but he is trailing the leader by 10 points, so he will need someone to help him out. It is going to be exciting race for sure.

Is that the one that went down hard in teutschenthal on the same jump as tomac?
I don't really follow that class but I was standing right next to the track there

Emx125 should be interesting as well. Hsu some points up but he has nothing for pootjes in the sand

Don't underestimate Strijbos one of the best sand riders in the world (defeated Herlings earlier this year in the Belgium nationals) van Horebeek is in the winning mood, good sand rider as well

Cairoli, Strijbos and van Horebeek will fight for the first place

On a similar track ? Man, if you think Finland was similar to Lommel, you're on glue !!! I hope Tixier or Febvre will win, but really i expect Gasjer to do it.

Is Haavisto a very common name in Finland ? I dated a Haavisto when i raced European MX championship back in 1993 at the finnish round in Alastaro... So pretty blonde girl, i still remember her face !!!!

Are you going to be there... Albie wilkie has been going well, to be only 10 points down is good going.. let's hope it's a good battle.

Emx250 is going to close too, will be avoid meeting

Coldenhoff is back for Lommel, if he's up to speed he's a favourite

Indeed, "similar" was perhaps not the best word, but you can understand what it's about.
For me, the way to riding this Finnish track was enough close of Lommel for make this link. (maybe I'm wrong, we'll see their speed this sunday)

i'd say he would be favourite for the win even if he's not 100% - coldenhoff is a better sand rider than any of the other top 6 riders currently in mx2. Is tonus back yet?
Anstie will do well if his bike doesnt break down - think the best thing they could do is get another mechanic/ engine builder! the amount of mechanical dnfs hes had this year is ridiculous!

i think cairoli will win mx1 but nagl is great in the sand too, as is shaun simpson. Remember shaun took the win at the lierop gp last year. Van hoerbeek and strijbos are both full of confidence and riding great at the minute. Both classes will be good to watch this weekend!

mx2 is the really interesting one- i think we might see a few crashes in the last few rounds with the riders pushing themselves a bit too far. The top 6 must all think they have a chance at winning now with herlings out- add coldenhoff and tonus to the mix, tixier having the pressure of a potential world championship if he can remain consistent.

MX2 - Coldenhoff will win at least 1 moto if he's up to speed.
MXGP - i think The Jerre89 will battle against TC222, don't know the outcome yet;P

I'm pretty confident that AC will smoke the field in both motos and realistically you do as well!

Simpson won last year when AC had a problem, remember moto 2 AC pulled over 50 seconds in about 10 laps and just cruised the remaining.
7/31/2014 7:21am
take nothing away from shaun- he rode great at lierop last year! fully deserved the win- it was awesome to see the whole pit lane cheering for him in his first gp win (not just his own team)

great sand rider- cairoli will always be favourite around lommel, no denying that- but simpson, strijbos, nagl or van hoerbeek have a really good day and get a good start they will give him a run for his money

mx2 should be close- i cant see far past coldenhoff round there, with herlings out. Could be make or break for tixier this weekend regarding the championship. Easy to have a bad moto round lommel!

Yep, Jere had fractured shoulder blade coming to Germany and after that crash he now has fractured shoulder blade and knee cap. He's tough kid and is really fast on sand, so hopefully he'll (and at least one other guy) get the job done, especially because I'm flying to Belgium tomorrow with the championship shirts Smile
7/31/2014 7:44am
Paulin can also haul in the sand as shown at the 2012 MXDN, but of course that's pretty unlikely right now given that he's only just returned from injury. Not going out on a limb to say that Tony will most likely win MX1. Along with others here - perhaps Coldenhoff in MX2.
