Has anyone tried these? Whats the feeling on them? Do they make the bar feel wider, do they hold up, etc?

Let me hear some experiences.

Rental Kevlar Half Waff soft, super durable (I've yet to try the new tacky) All lock-on models are too hard for my preference due to the rubber being thinner to allow for the plastic sleeve and they don't fit on bars with a knurled end, like my Pro-Tapers, or my friends Renthals without a lot of work. Other than that they are great.

FYI - Motion Pro Titan Throttle Tube is your friend if you have bonded throttle grips.

I wanna try the pro taper ones, but I don't know whether the ktm throttle cam that comes with it is the quick or slow throw. Anyone know?

I just got a set of odi lock on. I put them on a set of pro taper bars. They fit like crap, to small and had to use rubber hammer to get clutch side on. Odi slid on to renthal bars like butter.

ODI’s go on Pro Taper bars with about 30 seconds worth of file work. My KTM came with ODI’s stock, they are very soft compared to the first generation lock ons....EMIGS were always too hard for my liking. There is no reason to buy traditional grips in this day and age.

Tomac and/or Anderson for 2020.....

I love my odi lock ons. Yes I also had to tap mine on the clutch side but I know for sure that sucker isn’t going anywhere. It’s a little bit thicker than any regular half waffle, but they aren’t pillow top thick. I won’t be using any other grip for a while.

you probably won't get much output on the pro tapers as they just came out a few months ago. I just got a a pair but have not put them on yet.

I have used the ODI, Emig grips for about 4 years, I really like them. When I changed to Pro Taper bars as mentioned I did have to tap the clutch side on,

I use Emig Lock On's. I'll never use anything else.

ODI gets my vote. I never understood the whole grip too thin thing when the left is no thinner than any throttle side. It's like having two throttle sides. I have tried the Emig and thought they were a little small OD for me, so I settled on the half waffle like stock KTM grips.

Take it to the limit, one more time!

This^^ The stock KTM ones are superb, thicker and softer than any other odi/emig version. I threw them on my Yamaha and like them a lot more than stock or the emigs I tried. They are also cheaper for some reason.

I use the Emig grips on just about all of my bikes. I’ve been using them for years and love them. I had the same issue with pro taper bars, I had to get the left side on with a rubber mallet and can’t get it off now.

I just recently tried the new pro taper lock on grips but was sadly disappointed.

Emig/ODI are great. Been using them for 3-4 years now. No using a razor blade to cut old grips and glue residue off. Can instantly install. Go grip glue or wire needed. Can ride instantly. Hold up fairly well when going down on the bar end. They're no brainers.

Both are great. The Pro Taper has a different design that makes them considerably thinner than the ODi. After using the ODI for a few years I prefer them over the PT.

ODI pro edition half waffle. They are the most comfortable grips I have ever used and they’re extremely grippy. $10 a pair is hard to beat. The lock on grips are uncomfortable.

ODI half waffle lock on
Emig lock on
Renthal Kevlar half waffle

In that order....
Although I'm hooked on the grey ODI's from the KTM HardParts. They are softer that any of the other ones I've used. The '18.5 FE 450 comes with them now as well.

I personally loved the grips , but the damn throttle tube was loose / sloppy as hell. I got a set for my 12' KX450F , rode one time.....had to take them off. The grips , and the locked on clutch side felt awesome. But the throttle tube slop.....sucked bad!

And there goes Jeffro. One of God's own prototypes. A super high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I just changed from ODI to the Pro Tapers. The Pro Taper is noticeably thinner, not huge but it's noticeable at first. I went with the pillow top BTW. The Pro Taper did also slip on me a little when I landed hard, I need to tighten it up. I don't think there's a huge difference between them and I'd be fine with either one to be honest. I've always preferred half waffle grips and will go back that route on the next set. I think the Pro Taper gives a slightly better feel of the bars where the ODI adds a slight touch of rigidness. And I mean very slight.

they feel a bit dead IMHO - renthal tacky glued straight to bar.

|

Had them. Really didn't like them. I was all about them at first since I'm an emig fan boy, but they just feel too big and awkward in my hands, especially the left side felt odd.

Switched back to renthal half waffle and I swear I have more bike feel but I'm sure it's just mental

I also had this problem on my yzf none of the inserts fit right and the only one that did was loose as hell side to side slop

had the exact same issue on my RM-Z , i found the emigs lock on too hard for the 2hours harescrambles , i went with ODI soft compound diamonds and i like them, bought 3 sets for 25$ at my local dealer and im pretty happy with them.

I have been running the ODI Emig lock ons since they came out. Love them.

Never had an issue with them until putting them on some new Tag bars last week. Clutch side took a bit of work, but got there in the end.

I have noticed they seem to increase the free play in the throttle a bit, more noticeable on my sons KTM 50.

Also ran a set of Torc1 lock on grips on the 50 while I was waiting for the ODI's to arrive, they seemed pretty much the same.
