Cool. I only used pp twice to buy stuff off of eBay. I just logged in surprised I remember my log in info. I installed the app and it said you already hv an account. And it rejected my address. Anyway do I click on send money then enter his mobile #. Thx Oh man I feel like I,ve been in a really bad accident, head to toe . 3 beaten trks moving into a 4th in less than 2 months. The trk I was supposed to get they said there is no insurance on it til wed. But take this other 1. Both trks r 2k and 2,200 a week. My bills would b 3,900 a week then or more. Plus fuel and tolls. I said no I,m out then. I,ll drive 1099 as a co driver and asked for .85 I got .80. The rates hv been bad the last few weeks and with fuel going up. It’s pointless.
The only thing with PayPal is the person you send money to will lose about 3% in fees unless you send it friends and family. If you do that you lose any buyer protection. In my case i was standing next to the bike when I paid so no big deal.

Most of all this "inflation" is just corporate greed using the "inflation" excuse. You should here it when I,m calling on a G20 Chevy Van. Is it easy to drive because my Lady friend likes to drive Chevy vans naked. I don’t know what it is but the vans hit her freak button. Usually she don’t drive because she is getting comfortable in the back with nothing on playing with the mood lights or putting a puzzle together. Oh it has velour flex all captains chairs. That’s her favorite she loves the feel against her shirtless back. Etc

Gas and oil producers do not set the prices for their products. Wall St. Does. Production costs are fairly constant for the big producers. But Wall St. traders determine the commodity prices through their bidding

Same here. Nothing personal driver, but you don't write too good. Probably be better if you slowed down a bit

You're missing the point here. Of course costs have gone up across the board. But when McD's, Chipotle, and especially the oil companies say they're raising prices 20% due to inflation and then that same year post a 20% boost in profits anyone with the basic understanding of math realizes that their costs DID NOT go up 20%. Their costs had to stay flat in order to record an extra 20% profit. Right?

The worst offender is the oil companies and while they're reporting record profits everyone is blaming the high price of gas on the current administration and the oil companies are just laughing their way to the bank. They got away with jacking up prices to boost profits and the public blames the President. It's insane. If the current administration is so hard on oil companies and making their life miserable then how the fuck are they reporting record profits?

And perhaps the prices have gone up across the board because all of the suppliers are in on the scam and blaming their high prices on inflation or supply chain issues. I know there are some legit issues but is it really hard to believe that farmers are just jacking up the price of beef or chicken to stick it to McD's or Chipotle or Tyson? And is it hard to believe the manufacturers of oil drilling equipment are also jacking up prices artificially to stick it to the oil companies?
If you had any actual comprehension of how commodity prices are set, you wouldn't complain about the companies and their profits. (Don't feel bad...very few people really understand commodities markets. Most just want to complain about the profits companies make)

I'm well aware who sets the prices. You might want to clue in right wing news outlets on how it works cause according to them its 100% Biden's fault. My whole point was to put some brakes on the "it's all inflation" accusation when it comes to gas prices. If inflation and costs were driving the price up we certainly would not be seeing record profits from the oil companies. Sure, some of the increases may be a result of increased costs but the rate of rate hikes far exceeds that amount. So, corporate greed disguised as inflation holds true.

Did I respond here yet? Maybe bit here goes.
It's not gouging if it isn't a life necessity.
You don't have to have a bike. There is no factor stressing your life that a bike will improve.

If you are in an area that flooded, burned, tornado smashed etc. and you need drinking water, food, gas and your local sellers triple or quadruple their prices overnight then that is gouging and is prohibited by law in some places.

We're in a fucked place with out economy right now and I don't hear anyone talking about a plan for imporvement.

When you can walk away from a bike or a car and go home to a nice dinner and a soft bed, well, that's a first world problem.

Ok Thx. I just talked to the seller again PayPal or any app transfer of money above 600.00 . You hv to report it as 1099 income, taxable income. He has a buisness and so do I. I asked if one of my buisness account checks would work. It’s a Chase bank account there everywhere. And text him my drivers lic. And passport for proof of my identity. Or would there b another way to purchase the bike while I,m on the road ? Thx

Well, I hate to break this to you, but government energy policy DOES impact the cost of energy. Supply and demand impacts pricing. Energy policy impacts the supply chain, thus energy impacts pricing. 18 months ago the US was a net exporter of oil. Now the US is a net importer of oil. Feel free to blame whoever you want, but there's truth in what I just wrote.

Still missing my point. If you listen to some people or some “news” outlets they seem to believe this is entirely all gov’ts fault. Which is 100% false. All these big companies (oil included) are jacking up prices under the guise of “inflation” or “supply chain” issues. While a small portion is attributile to govt caused inflation the vast majority is just corporate greed.

For example, Container shipping company profits
First 9 months of 2021: $80 billion
All of 2010-2020: $38 billion. So they jacked the prices to the moon for greed (not inflation) and then that cost increase gets passed down the line to us and inflation is all blamed for it.

To summarize, we’re both right.

Our facility is making all time margins. I mentioned to HR adjustments for “inflation” and they said that’s not in the budget for this fiscal year and to discuss it Q1 2023.

Inflation is a mask being leveraged to further drain normal folks of their wealth.

That's kinda nonsense because these companies were fine existing (making massive profits) at X% when the price of oil was low. Let's just assume they were making 2% on oil at $50/gal=$1

Now that oil is high, they still insist on making the same 2% resulting in record profits. 2% on oil at $100/gal=$2. It didn't cost any more to produce. They doubled profits as consumers suffer.

Even though they were massively profitable making less, they insist on making far more when costs rise.

They're the enemy, but you guys think they're heroes.

I work in this industry in the corporate world and I have seen absolutely more greed during this pandemic than ever. Its a fact. Theyre making more money than ever but they have what people want so they are dicking the dealers and consumer around. A salesman working at a dealership for all the moto manufacturers would get $75 for each bike sold debited onto a branded Honda card or Suzuki card, just like a contingency card for racers. The companies have axed the bonuses, and when i asked them why, they said, the salesman are making tons of money right now they dont need it anymore. Ok…BS! Can you imagine if they stopped paying contingency for races? Saying were selling out of bikes we dont need that program to sell bikes anymore. And notice how they got rid of the rebates? They have also shortened the free flooring for new motorcycles at the dealerships from like 9-12 months to 60-120 days. Greed is the only answer of why they are doing this. To maximize profits the corporate way

Everyone in buisness is more aggressive than ever b4. The supply chain main problem is corruption. Ch Robinson is gathering most of the freight clipping it_ taking money from it. Then selling it off. The thousands of brokers that get it then try to make money off it. They refuse to contract the load to a carrier until the negotiating rate is in there favor. That’s why the shelf’s r mt. I was making 40 plus phone call trying to get 3.00 per mile. I had to settle for 2.75 or sit and make nothing. My last check was -212.00 I ran 20 plus hr days and nights a lot of ovr night drives. Because those lds paid more. Fixed payments r ovr 3,200 a week not including fuel and tolls. Running the north east tolls can b 1,000 per day. The 4th trk to rent was 600 more 2,200 a week. I said I,m out. I,ll drive 1099 co for .85 they like me alot . So they agreed but not to .85, I get .80 . But now I,m doing short haul in the ne. So I don’t make nothing. I said I need 375 per day on short haul, not getting. I look for another job. To save anything is almost impossible.

Oh yeah a rust free identical to my 95 g20 was 29,999 on eBay. They call them retro classics now. Ovr 40 calls and text trying to get unlded. Ld cut from 43,900 to 3,080 lbs. pallet of dog food is not supposed to b in Trl. I,ll probably hv to threw in on the ground in the back row at a truck stop.

Well that’s the way buisness is. I tested and hauled crude oil in 18,19 . They lost money taking it to market so the wells in w Texas where capped. Trillions of barrels there enough to power the world for 10,000 yrs. now there getting there money back or trying to. Because where buying oil from other countries but don’t need too. I just want to know of ideas of buying a bike and not being able to b in the state where the bike is. If we made anything out here I would just go home and buy it. 7,800 trk mt and avail for a ldwith in 250 mi of Chicago and only 87 lds r avail. Is not a good sign.

I'm definitely seeing this in the truck market as well.
Vans are even worse. $10-15K for a van with 100-120K miles on it.

Ever looking for free food that’s where it is. You always hope they say dump it. And not take it to a food bank because there is a few more hrs of no pay. If it stretches out to 15 hrs drivers r still not paid. Because incompetent people can’t do there job correctly .

You’ve transitioned to LTL nicely. 👍🏻
