Sold my daughters 2001 XR50 for $1000 within 3 hours of posting it this week. I listed high figuring i would negotiate down from there and hopefully weed out some of the bullshit. Good looking 50, but i was honestly shocked at how fast it sold and the people were pumped about it.

I'm hoping the prices will hold out long enough for me to get my son's TT-R110 sold. At the moment, I'm pretty certain I can sell it for $2K. When the market regains its sanity, it will be worth about half that.

I just sold my bike on Sunday. I live in missouri. It was a 2019 YZ250F with 75 hours, brand new top end, suspension revalved/resprung and alot of small nice parts on it.. I sold it for $4500. The next day, the guy is trying to sell it for $5700.. almost the same price you could buy a leftover for last year. Did I sell too cheap? I feel like I priced it pretty fairly.
It would be a fair price before Jan 2020. Now you way undersold yourself.

The market is so jacked right now, it makes more sense to buy new. As crazy as it sounds. No shot am I buying someone elses beaten bike for <6K. For 2-3K more I can have brand new and know the bolts arent stripped out and rads arent smashed.

I bought a 2019 F350 Lariat diesel in April 2019 for 63,500.. but the MSRP on the window sticker was 74k. I've put 28k miles on it, and the dealer called me the other day saying they would offer me 68k on a trade.

LET THAT SINK IN....

The dealer I bought it from offered me 5k more than I paid for it new.. on trade! He said I should list it for 71k privately.
Take them up on the offer and come back to us if that's actually the case. This tactic has been around pre-covid (offering more than what you bought it for) to get foot traffic in at the dealership. Don't ask me how I know Wink

Well i don't know if it's wrong time/area/model but my far from clapped 19 TC is still sitting

After 1+ month on FB Marketplace/ktmtalk/Cycle Trader/Vital :

5 tire kickers
2 low ballers
1 serious guy but in a not well deserved area so shipping quotes $600 avg if not more and he still would have to drive quite a bit to a larger hub center

Or maybe i'm delusional and it is clapped/overpriced ? Tongue

As an aside, doesn’t it seem weird that there’s been this programming flaw with the FB selling walls, for seemingly years now, where most can’t logically and easily enter a correct nomenclature and price ? Is it a major glitch ? Seems like they would’ve fixed that long ago....(?)

Truck shortages are real. My son sells new chevys. They are buying back every truck, tahoe, suburban they can while production is halted. He had a 2021 z71 with 4500 miles on it, his manager gave him $5k over sale price, sold it 30 minutes later for 7500 over that. My cousin just did the same with his 2020 z71, my son bought it and sold it within the hour

Try importing Skylines... 3 years ago I could get a gtr v spec. Landed to my door for under $30k. Now, i cant pull one out of auction for under $35k. Want an R34? 2 years ago, $50-75k depending on spec. Now? Nothing under $100k. V spec2? $150k, v spec nur spec? $275-325k. Just at auction...

Yep, I sold my 59 rag top for 7k a few years ago, the guy recently sold it for 16. I saw a 66 resto go for 60k at auction. My buddy was offered 70k for his mid 60s microbus that he paid 2500 for 15 years ago.

I’ve done pretty well in life, but not well enough to pay 60k for a VW no matter how much I like it.

That ain’t just “an old bus”...I saw sooooo many of those in the 60s and 70s as a kid growing up and surfing the beaches of California.

That is one of the hallmarks of Surfing, California, The Best of Times...Free Love...etc., etc., etc. ..

Damn, that thing is NICE!!

Same thing happened to me. Sold my ‘13 CRF450R for 3400. Next day it’s listed for $4500. Probably could have gotten more but I did what I thought was fair.

New England is insane, absolutely ludicrus prices. Whats worse is that the weather, rocks, constant mud, coarse grain soil and sand asolutely destroys bikes here. Removes frame paint, dulls aluminum, fades plastic, peels off graphics. Shittiest bikes you'll find.

If it makes you guys feel any better about dirt bikes and VWs, horses are undergoing the same thing.

Child friendly, broke horses, 8-15 years old have about tripled in price in the last year.

Wait a second...

So, you're saying that horse-owners might be getting about 1/2 of what their horses are worth now-a-days? Grinning

Good horses...namely...trail horses...are hard to find and even harder for most people to "create". A good trail horse, to me, is worth more than can be explained. But, I'm a bit jaded on these things. I'm one of those guys that's been thrown, kicked and even bitten by horses more times than I can say...still...I appreciate s truly good trail, work or cutting horse.

Growing up around horses, training...cleaning...caring for "24-7" & working cattle with them was one of life's best lessons.

I went to an auction on the weekend that had some ‘94-‘98 KDX and RMX 250’s. Decent lower hour bikes for their age but no titles. They all went for over $3k lmao

My buddy put his 2001 yz426 with crazy high hours up for sale for $2200 and it sold same day for $2200, then his 2005 yz250 up for sale for $4k sold 3 days later for $3900, then his 2007 CRF150F for $3200 and sold same day for $3k. I now have my 2009 CRF150F up for sale for $3200.... market is high right now but you can’t get new so it is what it is.

I’m still laughing my ass off at the geniuses that told me I’d paid too much for the 2007 RM125 I bought in December ($3,500 for a saweeeet little scooter).

I know manny I may have been over dramatic with that statement... i’ve owned it since i was 14 and have had some great times in it... used to daily drive it back in the 90s it goes zero to sixty in never!

This is my 57 oval and my buddy should be delivering it up here to vegas in the next couple of weekends.

oh and ... neither are for sale! 😉

Here’s the western Washington market. Makes me f*****g sick. I paid $1800 for a 01 CR 250 in 2016 that was a low hour bike. Original chain, sprockets and, even both tires.

Nice!

I jumped on the one I found due to all the fresh motor work & new hardware from the FMF exhaust to the excel rims...and all the other stuff I would have spent a ton of money on.

Something about a fresh “older” bike. I was stoked when I got it. I was even happier about buying it once I spent a day at the track on it.

Hmmmm, I had no idea this frenzy was affecting the truck market too. I have a like new totally loaded 2016 cummins 4x4 that has 11K miles on it. I only take it on road trips and then it sits inside on a trickle charger while I drive my older truck. It's all blacked out and dialed in. So from what you guys have seen I should be able to sell it for a premium during this frenzy? I don't want to sell it because it's all dialed in with stereo, tint, wheels/tires, leveling kit, etc but if I could get some good money for it I just might let it go.
