It seemed a bit to much to create a new topic for those few who love Real Road Racing. So I renamed it!

Just waiting for the 2 stroke fanboys to come in and whine about the 4 strokes being too fast and making the sport unsafe.

Wrong sport but nice try big dog

Man I hope no one dies there this year. Those guys are nuts. Moto is safe compared to that shizz.

"Dean Harrison set the 2018 Isle of Man TT Races, fuelled by Monster Energy, alight on Tuesday evening with a stunning lap of 133.462mph, which unofficially broke the Superbike lap record and also saw him become the second rider to lap the Mountain Course in less than 17 minutes.

The Silicone Engineering Kawasaki rider laid down a marker from the outset with an opening lap of 133.140mph, the fastest ever standing start lap – albeit unofficially – before increasing his pace second time around. The Bradford rider’s quickest lap prior to tonight was 132.019mph, set in last year’s PokerStars Senior TT race."

Imagine averaging 133mph over 37 miles of twists and turns. Frighteningly fast. These fellas have huge tatties.

Oh there are great two stroke races at the TT! The Lightweight class has is two strokes if I'm not mistaken. I really hope for TT and a road race season without fatalities, what is going good so far! No deaths at NW200 neither at local races if I'm well informed so fingers crossed.

PS: Dean Harrison is really doing great indeed! After the NW200 I tweeted that this team and Dean are really underestimated because year after year they are building a very competitive package and Dean makes it work most of the times! Personally I hope that Hutchy keeps safe, racing with only one leg and a half. Besides that it will be a nice open battle! Still don't get it why Dunlop left the great package Hawk Suzuki gave him. If you see what Bradley Ray is doing on that bike in BSB and what Dunlop did on it after only a few months of testing last year! But he's a special character who always seems to feel the need to control everything himself.

This is a 'talk fest' basically - but interesting to those of us into The IOM / Real Roads Race, and, for those that don't know much about it, Educational. It also covers Michael Dunlops reason for returning to the BMW:

I do hope both Bruce and Jamie defeat that bastard Cancer - both are greats.

Bummer that McG is out, and that Hutchy is walking wounded.

This year is only the second time in 12 years I'm not there - my current health couldn't deal with the work load I get coerced into, so, I've succumbed to reality, and stayed home, to go to the 2 Indonesian MXGPs, as a Holiday. Next year, I hope to be back.

133.462 mph Lap Average in Practice - goodness me........ Dean Harrison is on it. What the hell type of time that will inspire Dunlop, and others to, I shudder to think.

Ian Lougher, 10 times TT winner on the Suter MMX - last time - 2016- there they discovered, after the event, a very simple thing that played havoc with their efforts. I hope He / They keep it together and have fun. He's in his mid 50s now, so not a realistic threat, but one of The Greats, nonetheless. Stay safe, Ian!. I'd love to see one of the current Real Roads superstars on the Suter. Michael Dunlop on it would be something to see.

A ride / instruction lap with Milky Quayle, Dean Harrison and Dan Kneen :

Anyone have any information on the red flag incidents that shutdown practice this evening......sounds serious and given how early it was in the practice, it is likely a front runner(s).......hoping everyone is OK.

There was a fire in a tree out on the course in the Churchtown section had to shut it down. Didn't say what happened they're calling it an incident. How do you set fire to a tree? Maybe they were friends of the guy that got put in jail for walking on the course.

Trees don't spontaneously combust.....and a single tree fire does not shut down an evening of practice. What I know is that there are 2 incidents and one of them is a rider hitting a course car responding to the first incident....holding my breath....

Absolutely gutted to hear about Dan Kneen, the Manx man made tremendous strides last year on the BMW and was a darkhorse for a win this year.

It shows it can happen to anyone from a beginner to one of the fastest on the mountain.

Godspeed and full gas, Dan.

On a lighter note, me thinks this is the year Hicky gets on the top step of the podium...multiple times. Dude is a machine on the roads and short circuits.

RIP Dan Kneen.

What can you say? This makes MX/SX look like tiddly winks.

Dan Kneen got killed in the first accident, a car got send there and then a participant ran into that car at full speed. Still no news about that one. Only that someone is airlifted. Oh this is so damn sad and also why I rater love watching NW, Ulster or a national Road Race. The TT is a damn cruel animal, a very cruel animal.

5/30/2018 2:54 PM

Wow. Tragic news, a lot of people had Dan as a break out this year.

Yeah, best wishes to Anstey and Whitham.... I met Jamie when he was back in WSBK after his first cancer run in. An inspiration and I hope he makes it through again this time

Luckily they are out of reach from our H+S brigade, I would never do it but would never stop someone that wanted to.
