Motorcycling Australia (MA) has confirmed that the Penrite ProMX Championship will be aired live on television and online through its inaugural season in 2021.

The historic arrangement will see live coverage in Australia on both free-to-air network SBS and Fox Sports, as well as a livestream package online.

In a broadcast hosted by longtime Supercars reporter Riana Crehan, former professional racers Lee Hogan and Danny Ham will call the action across all eight rounds operated by production company AVE, which also produces the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) package.

There will be 2.5 hours of live coverage on television in addition to up to seven hours of live-streaming, including support categories. Coverage will be available internationally online and also via Fox Sports Asia.

“In our inaugural year before the flag has even dropped on race one, we have secured a world-class and the largest television package in Australian motocross history through our TV partners SBS, Fox Sports Australia and Fox Sports Asia,” MA CEO Peter Doyle said.

“Fans here in Australia and around the globe, no matter where they are, will be able to access the broadcasts whether through SBS, Fox Sports Australia here at home, and Fox Sports Asia as well as our very own ProMX TV Livestream around all parts of the world.

“We said on taking over the management and promotion of the ProMX Championship that we wanted to work hard to deliver a significant championship television package and to do so we needed the support of the industry – I am very pleased that the industry saw our vision and have backed MA.”

Round one of the new-look 2021 Penrite ProMX Championship, presented by AMX Superstores, will commence with the opening round of the season scheduled for Wonthaggi, Victoria, on Sunday, 11 April.

Great news. Hopefully this series will return to it's former prestigious position. The previous promoter seemed to do his best to bury it.

I really hope that the 1st round doesn't interfere with watching Atlanta 1. Sad
