Looking to order some pieces but have seen some unavailability problems in the past. So order from lightspeed directly and pay more or motosport and hope that 5-7 days doesn't turn into back order?
Any recent experience here?
Seems like every team has their stuff so they have to be around.

I wouldn't count on any back orders from my experiences.

I ordered 2 pcs for 11 year old bike. I had zero expectation they would be in stock. Had them within 30 days. Great company.

I'm looking for yz front disc guard, lug protector, and maybe chain guide. It's just odd they don't sell a lot through distributors.

Honestly, I can’t picture it being a huge company that has any need for distributors, especially when they sell themselves.

That’s the reality. Lightspeed prices are pretty damn good to begin with. I should know, we make thousands of carbon fiber parts per month for OEMs and major aftermarket companies. Willy and the Lightspeed crew make pretty damn good stuff for the price and I can’t see where he’s got room for distributor margins. If he sells to the dot-coms, I’m guessing it’s at a slightly better than “dealer price”.

He still makes parts for all sorts of different models and years. Honestly, a lot of people are lucky that he loves Yamaha’s so muchGrinning

Very good to deal with directly. I spoke with William(pretty sure hes the owner) while he searched his stock for the fork guards and carbon skid plate on the 04 YZ125 im working on. He was friendly, and got the prodct out quickly. September 2017 was when i ordered.

I just ordered some stuff direct about two weeks ago. I had the parts in my hand within about 5-7 days.
