I'm building up a second set of wheels for my bike, I'd like to keep them on the lighter side if possible.

What are some of the lighter rotor options out there?

Any long term issues with running Titanium rotor bolts?

I’ve always had good luck with galfer rotors. Never had an issue with Ti hardware. I tend to spend more on wheels since it’s rotating/unsprung mass

I like the superlight Galfer rotor and ti hardware. Try and save weight on light tubes and rim lock as well.

Uncle Ron would tell you the lightest rotors are no rotors, brakes only slow you down and that’s just dumb.

These wheels will have Mousses in them 95% of the time.

Are those plastic lightweight Motion Pro rim locks any good? They seem to get 50/50 reviews from what I’ve found.

Think I’ll go with the lighter Galfer ones.

The light rim locks worked fine for me. Never on a 450 but fine on 250/350

They have lasted but they are much smaller and the aluminum spacer before the bolt has warped

I would get the non-floating rotors vs the floating rotors. Less hardware and less weight. Motostuff has a very light rotor as well as the Galfer SKW (something like that). Ti bolts will save you such a minimal amount of weight that it's just not worth it. Those bolts are tiny.

This may seem obvious, but go with a non-floating rotor to save weight.

Go with floating rotors to improve brake performance.

You will go faster with easy to modulate brakes than 30 grams less weight.
