attempting a world first ramp tp ramp double front flip tonight. Paris Rosen attempted one at TPs to dirt and under rotated....
The Shop
And good luck to Bruce! Hope he lands it and can't wait to see video of it.
"I don't even like doing front flips on trampolines. A month ago was my first time front flipping anything with wheels" - Bruce Cook.
That padding they put down probably saved his life. Any word on how he is? As an aside...you would think that they would alter the ramp and landing for something like that. A steeper landing zone really makes things more forgiving....
Pit Row
He was conscious the whole time and was waving to the crowd with both arms from the stretcher. Just a guess but I don't see how his lower back could have survived. I have my fingers crossed that here is no paralysis. They didn't say at the show.
On a side note, if you get a chance to see one of these shows that show was unbelievable. I assumed that the tricks would be tamed down but they just kept stepping it up as the show went on. There was a few firsts last night and one and onlys. They do a fantastic job of making the show children friendly. The skateboard ramp is ridiculous. I hit the TO supercross every year but this had me smiling the entire time.
I also got a huge laugh at Travis's energy. He truly does have ADD. He was running around the whole show like a chicken with it's head cut off. They also grabbed 3 people from the crowd and did a 3 person MX backflip and a two person bicycle back flip that didn't end well. Everyone was fine but I don't possible see any way they couldn't be plants as this was way too dangerous.
but this crew seems hell-bent on getting someone killed.
This guy is lucky that he landed kind of flat. Seems like if he spiked in head first he'd be dead.
What's the landing made out of? I know they take a lot of precautions and learning new materials so that guys (and girls) can try this stuff and minimize the risk of injury at a failed attempt. If this was to dirt in sure the result would be much much worse at then point of impact.
Hope Bruce recovers ok, but damn got to wonder how far these tricks will go.
Oh yeah, a front flip is just not important from the start, two is less.
