Does anybody else hook their boot on the RH rad shroud/ side panel on a fairy regular basis ?? On that little pointed part, it’s happened to me numerous times. I’m about average height at 5’9,
I have not. 5'11. You talking about that lowest point in the shroud? Interesting that it's the right side only and not the left, the radiators differ a lot but the panels themselves seem pretty symmetrical.

Yes this happens to me every now and then. It seems like it sits right at the top of my boot. Make sure the shroud is properly hooked into the number plate where they meet right near the shock. Mine pops out occasionally, I'm not sure if that's the cause or the effect of my boot catching.

Ya that lowest point in the rh shroud it’s really quite annoying actually. It’s usually when hanging off the back of the bike some in the rollers etc. I got new boots recently I’ll maybe check them out make sure they are tight enough on top but they seem to be

Honestly, this is my favorite so far. These bikes just keep getting better and better and this is the first bike I’ve had with different engine mounts and actually being able to test product and linkages and find what works best for me. So this is number 1!
How does the Longer wheelbase affect the turning ability of the new KX? I thought the reason why so many like the new KX is because it turn better? Why make it turn slower by running the rear wheel further back?

I just started running the Tusk 1 1/8th bar mounts that add 3/4 inch of of height. Was running pro taper std height mounts prior for my pro taper sx race bend bars. So, same bars, sit 3/4 higher now. I’m 6’3” and I love the new height personally. Feels the same in corners but standing is a lot more comfortable. Probably be looking for a more robust mount that can give me the same height in the future but so far so good.

Thx for the info, yeah my bars are great sitting, standing I got to put my ass over the finder to feel comfy, my quad muscles get burnt pretty quick because my knees are so far in front of the pegs while standing

It takes about 1.25 jugs if you do the cartridges as well.

Tighten the throttle cable at the adjuster on the cable. Make sure you do not get any binding by moving the bars stop to stop, especially to the right, while twisting the throttle.

I added 2 links to my chain and running a 51T rear sprocket. I was able to move my rear axle back 12mm. Noticeable difference in handling. The rear end seemed to be more settled on braking bumps. Noticed an increase in front end traction as well entering the corner through mid corner. Bike seemed more stable to already a very stable bike. I then added the Works Chassis Lab Medium engine mounts (this is my other 19) and it multiplied everything for the better. I was concerned moving the axle back I’d lose the ability to corner in a tight rut and it wasn’t an issue at all.

Does anyone have a good fix to keep the pivot of the pegs from filling up with dirt? On deeper ruts its really annoying when the pegs always get stuck at an angle.

I run 5mm spacers from Ride Engineering under my Ride mounts, but only because my preferred Carmichael bend bars are pretty low to begin with. I love the bend, but like the spacers to bring them up just a tad to a more "normal" bar height. I believe Ride also makes 10mm spacers.

Flo makes something for the pre-19 model here but a review there says it's possible to modify to fit the 19. Hard to tell if he's saying that the peg mount itself needs to be modded, which I would personally avoid. Seems like something one could possibly have machined to fit a 19 though:

And there's always the rubber Acerbis ones but I don't know how they would hold up to dragging in a rut (more suited to mud flung into the peg I think):

From Tomac's 18 race bike, a cool version of the peg armor that fits inside the mount:

moving the axle back in effect moves the engine forward, so that's why it feels like it turns better!

I think acerbis sells some rubber ones for like $15.

They do but I think if you are dragging the peg in a deep rut it would probably pull that thing off. It slips right over the peg to install so I can't see it being terribly resilient when contacting the ground directly.

I have used the Acerbis on my 16 and now on my 19. They are really very durable and work great. The Factory and MXGP teams used them till machining their own. A little more factory/bling, but still used by a number of teams. The price is right for privateers/amateurs.
