This mount appears to be solid instead of rubber mounted. If that is the case that is probably the reason the tab broke off the sub-frame. The new sub-frame is going to break in the same manner until that tab on the muffler is rubber mounted. Call Pro Circuit. I think they know about this.

Pro circuit has always been solid mounted for a while now.

It looks like they made a running change for the 2019 KX450.

This is mine, I noticed my tire hits slightly as well. Hopefully they have a quick fix I really don't want to lose 3-4 weeks shipping it to California...

They said not to run the exhaust if you have the solid mount they are going to call me Friday to let me know what they're going to do.

Can you guys remove the seats and take pictures of the subframes under the seat. I have yet to see pics of what it looks like under the seat and how the seat contact the subframe, and how it is wearing. Thanks

Why do all the new bikes number plates hook over the top of the rear fender now. First KTM then Yamahas fender is made to look like it does then Kawi. Does this do something? Or is it just how they say this is new now.

Makes it harder to snag a leg, boot, etc

I’m just thankful they are still separated pieces of plastic.

Anyone running a PC exhaust without any issues??

I bought a full system but I saw this post after I bought it. I put it on the bike but luckily haven’t started it yet... I called PC and they are aware of the issue of course but still have no fix as of late this afternoon. Said they won’t know anymore till next week. Sucks to by $1000 exhaust and not get to use it but that’s how it goes lol.

I thought about drilling the PC muffler to 3/4 which is the same size hole at the oem muffler and using the stock spacers and rubber... they would need to be cut down a little bit but I think it would work. It would mount like the stock one atleast. PC didn’t recommend it and said it would void warranty obviously. I really don’t see what else can be done? Any ideas? I might just need to put the stock stuff back on and roll ??‍♂️

From what I was told it's more of a kawi problem with weak mount.

my guess it's a PC problem. The tire hits the can causing the mount to break.

I have 4 hours running the PC system everything is good but I'm going to wait until they figure out whatever the problem is.

FMF system isn’t available yet. My lower chain roller did break in half today. 18 hours on it. The single bearing roller is a joke. The 16-18 double bearing roller fits with a 7mm spacer in back. The threads on the stud are a little short, but it’s a fix. And rollers are on back order.

there is no reason the subframe would break with the PC if it is fine with the stock. The PC is also lighter. The only logical answer is two things. The mounting hole is off causing a bind putting pressure on the mount, or, the tire is hitting the can. Pretty much one of the two.

Was this rubber mounted one on a factory bike that you saw? There’s are rubber mounted. They are a little different as the muffler and mid pipe is one piece unlike production stuff which is 3 total pieces (head, mid, muffler)

Not necessarily. The stock is rubber mounted and the PCs are rigidly mounted. The rubber allows the muffler and subframe to displace as the frame/subframe flexes and as the exhaust system expands with temp, where rigidly mounting would cause the subframe tab to support all that extra loading.

The rubber mount also may be damping out frequencies that cause the system to resonate.

I personally really like your modification idea. I guess I can see PC's point, but what is the other option? Are they willing to swap it for an updated version? If the answer is No, I think I would move forward with your mod... what do you have too loose?

I mean a warranty issue... sounds like you may have just that with their system if it comes back that they are making an updated version to alleviate this issue to the bike, no???

I love my ‘19 450. I’ve been looking for a full coverage skid plate. I know the stock kawi ‘18 ski plate fits, has anyone tried an aftermarket skid plate?
