Any thoughts on 2020 KX450 forks? I am 180 lbs. with 5 hours on the bike. Feel like they are just getting a bit soft. Stock springs with 5cc more fluid per leg firm it up a bit? Thanks

Yup. Don’t forget to do the fi as well, and per his review, use the white coupler. Here’s a link to his review article (with upgrades)...

Here’s a link to his review article (with upgrades) which has a good breakdown and explanation of the settings. Good read altogether.

Cool that’s what I read!
It doesn't matter which coupler you're using. If you flash any of them to all 0's it will behave like the green one. If you plug in the black or white and read the fuel/ign tables you'll see the offset values for those couplers and the associated "Map 1/2/3" in the datastream screen.

I think Keefer made a mistake, because the map he posted is just the stock white one.

Pretty sure that’s the same map that MXA has posted on their site and it seems to be the go to map for a lot of owners as well. I could be wrong though.

Think you may have a point on the white coupler. MXA doesn’t say anything about which coupler to use. I can’t see why it would matter which one you are using as it is being rewritten.

So Stax, I just had pro circuit do my suspension. It needed a rebuild so I had them set it up while they were at it. They did .53 springs in the front and a .57 (not sure if it’s .57 or 5.7) in the rear. Haven’t received it yet, but looking forward to more holdup on bigger hits.

Does anyone know of a screwdriver that works to adjust fork compression damping with 1 1/8th bars when the bar clamps are in the forward holes? It is a PITA to have to remove the bars to adjust compression.

Flat head bit with a 6mm wrench should work.

It’s a major pain. The flat style compression adjusters that you can get from pro circuit don’t work due to part of the cap being raised on one side. I go in with a tiny screwdriver from a side angle. The compression adjuster gets pretty chewed up but what can you do?

Keefers is only slightly different on one of the maps. I can't remember if it was the ig or fi tho. Personally i went a little farther and pulled some timing out of the upper left corner for a little smoother power at small throttle opening or low rpm situations.

190 without gear and would call myself a Vet A rider. I need more holdup on the bigger hits if I mis-time something or Overjump a triple or whatever. Also need that vet comfort Smile I’ve heard they have good settings on this bike.

Think they have sent same rates your calling out (i have to dbl check) and they go in sunday night so excited to ride with them. Being this heavy the bike wasnt terrible so should make big improvement.

I finally gave up on Works chassis lab.
Zero response to Email and Messaging on Facebook.
Looking at some of the Facebook posts I guess I am far from being the only one that was disappointed with no response.
I just wanted an eta when they would be available.

I’m pretty patient and get these are not going to make me any faster but some basic communication would be helpful.
I went ahead and ordered a set from FCP.
Zero issues and one the road already.

I also bought a full set for my CRF from them to be fair with no issues at all.

After 139 pages, I’m not convinced to purchase a kx450 unless I’m going to get rid of it at 45 hours.

If I was closer, you would be able to sell me yours at 45 hours. I bought a second hand 19 that had at least 90 hours. I know the original owner and between him and the 15 hours I put on it all that required changing was suspension fluids, chains, sprockets, guide and roller. Of course tires too. I now have a 2020 and it has been great so far.

How many hours is everyone getting out of their bottom chain roller? I shredded mine off in 23 hours. Curious if I should stick with OEM or if there’s a longer-lasting option.

TM Designworks for sure. It isn’t just a Kawasaki problem. My last bike was a Honda and I had to go to a Slide and Guide kit with chain rollers on that bike as well.

16-18 OEM Roller. 19-20 has one bearing, and the 16-18 has two bearings.
