That's neat, do they have a US distributor or did you have to get it shipped internationally?

I emailed CRM directly and he worked out a better price was 180EU shipped about $210. He shipped it Thursday and I got it today. You have to use normal bolts with a washer the stock bolts are bigger with the machined step they have.

Getting the final prep finished for the break in ride. Question for you guys - Setting sag yesterday I got 38/97. Backed it down to 100 rider and I’m at 40 static. I guess I’ll keep going to get 104 or so but I’ll probably be in the 43-45 static range to get there. I’m 180 no gear. Did I get a one off stiffer than normal rear spring from what you guys have seen on your bikes? Maybe just needs to get a break in to settle things in? Rear end has been torn apart and greased/torqued Thanks! Throwing in a fresh pic just beacuse ?

Nice congrats! The suspension frees up quite a bit after the first ride or two.

Ok, dropped the race sag to 104, getting 42 static. I’ll give it a shot, breaking it in tonight!

Numbers will vary depending on how and exactly where you take your measurements from but I got 42 static with 103 race at 170lbs and that seemed the best

Does your FI tool show 2019? When I hooked mine up it just says 13+ and 16+ KX450F. Still seems to connect and stream data, so I guess it works.

I'm not sure how to upload the stock maps from the bike to the scanner to get a starting point. I'd like to save them before overwriting anything.

EFI calibration is what I do at work, and I can barely figure this thing out. The instructions are pretty terrible for this tool!

The baseline of your ECU is all zeros for fuel and ignition. For example, I felt my 2016 was too snappy at low throttle openings and hard to keep from standing up in clay ruts. I retarded the ignition at -3 for 10 % throttle at all engine rpms, then faded it back to 0 so that it would be stock at 40% throttle. I used the fi % to tune my decel pop. I'm purposely not messing with it rn to see what I like yet, but will start by mid October. In the meantime I've just been running the black coupler

Alright, figured it out. I knew all 0s was stock, but wasn't sure how to read the other couplers. The "ECU Data" tab reads the map that is flashed into the ECU, and changes depending on what coupler is in, so you can save the stock maps. "Edit Data" is what you will overwrite with.

Anyway, I ended up mounting the subharness like this, right under the seat by the starter relay. It fits pretty well, and the seat doesn't hit it when installed.

Is this an older ECU tuner? I have one from 2016 and it has this but what I found on Kawis website for a mount was a lock clip that tapes to the frame somewhere. But I didn't want to take the seat off every time I wanted to mess with so I mounted down underneath where it is stock using this bracket and flipping it upside down> it stuck out quite a bit but I simply bent it inward and I think it will be fine

I also sent my subframe to be beefed up. I should get it tomorrow. I also sent my Pro Circuit muffler down to have them revamp with new hanger. But they also wanted the mid pipe, I think they are going to weld them together.

Yes Pro Circuit welds the mid pipe to the muffler now. Mine is coming back tomorrow I'll post pictures.

To all the guys having your frames braced and fixed. Kawasaki will warranty a stock subframe that broke. They will not warranty one that was welded on.

Seems kinda sketchy waiting for it to break though. Don't think PC will warranty a pipe if it get's destroyed either, they are saying to weld it. Guess it's whatever you feel comfortable with.

Yeah this is a new 2019 ECU tool with the new part number. Oddly it didn't come with any files for a 2019, another Vital user actually emailed me the CD update for the 2019. PM me and I'll email them to you.

Kawi updated their accessory site last week and added that stick-on bracket. Before that they had the same clip that you are using lised as the right part for 2019. Maybe I'll order one and see if I can mount it somewhere accessable. I like the spot you picked actually.

Thanks, I'm kinda proud of myself on that spot.

I got my subframe back and the dude did a great job. This sucker ain't breaking off.

But I think i discovered one of the main reasons these tabs are breaking off......they are welded at the wrong angle, putting a side load on it. I think someone else said something similar but after getting mine back im convinced. When I first got the bike, i noticed that it angled towards the tire. I pointed this out to the welder. when i got it back it was straight. funny thing is, he didn't straighten it, just applied the heat to do the welding. its like it found its proper center. I tried to find more pics with the angled tab but now I can only find the one here. I believe this is a fixed one(?) but you can see the difference

Heard Nick Wey broke a stock one.

Fmf pipe is hard mounted just like Pro Curcuit. Only pipe that's rubber mounted is the stock pipe.

Yeah and PC even said the rubber mount won't fix the sub frame issue. According to another member here as long as the subframe wasn't welded on Kawasaki is replacing them if they break.

Either way there is clearly something wrong with the subframe and wish they would fix it before it breaks and destroys a pipe.

My friend called kawi and tried complaining they said it wasn't their problem the stock pipes work. The subframe mount hangs way farther down then previous years. Pro circuit has had solid monted pipes for years so it's not their fault really. I would weld it stronger I don't care if they won't give me a subframe mine isn't going to break.

Got my muffler back today from PC. Welded the mid pipe on as well and rubber mounted. I’m going to beef up the subframe as well. I have a T6 slip on that has 1 hour on it I’m going to send back and have retro fitted with the rubber mount and I will be selling it if anyone is interested.
