Buy a good car racing simulator and start doing that and then transfer it to a real car and track. Right now I have The Fanatec Podium setup with the Porsche wheel and a Porsche Cayman GTS for the real track.

Mountain biking, jet skiing, side by sides. I’m lucky enough to have a big family so we have those toys and it’s definitely keeping me satisfied since I tore my ACL, MCL, LCL, and both meniscus. Side by sides are definitely the most fun if you have trails and pits close.

I took up road racing two years ago after a 8 year absence from MX due to a compound fracture on my left forearm that led to surgery, pins and whole lot of misery.

Road racing is absolutely incredible, the high you get from the cheer speed or dragging an elbow while nailing an apex is unmatched. HOWEVER, it is very expensive AND dangerous. I had a nasty highside last year that left me with damaged ligaments on my right shoulder, a concussion and headaches for months (i still feel dizzy every now and then).

So ya, if you're looking for a sport that won't put your body at risk, road racing is not it.

Not very similar to your medical situation, but I've been contemplating my exit from the sport for the last couple years. Bought a new bike and gear, having a blast for the last 2. I think I am getting one more new bike, and running that for 2-3 years before switching over to autocross and track days. I've done the RC car thing, meh. No interest in laying a street bike over in a corner at 100mph, or getting ran over by some idiot on their cell phone. At 44, I see the writing on the wall, I just don't want to get glasses so I can read it.

they are Now Racing E-bikes at the GNCC races which I think looks like a lot of fun and A SUPER lot safer. I haven't done it personally because I can't afford an E-bike but I definitely would try it if I could.

You can’t afford to pay the shipping like you said you would on the boots I sent you. Need to stick your broke ass to basketball. PM’d, and called you out on here, you just ignore it. I’m not trippin on the $49 I spent to get you the boots, just shows what kind of a man you are. If you say you’re gonna do something, be a man, keep your word.

This is the first I have seen this. I will pay the shipping.
How would you like the payment sent?

I had the back surgery three weeks ago. Sciatica. Herniated Disk. My disc was rubbing against my spinal column.

Feels like a pencil jamming in your butt muscle - calf pain and your toes go numb. On a pain level.......10 being I will kill myself. 9 was pretty common....I could not even move in a bed or walk without screaming.
I decided to have the bulging disc cut out.
I almost canceled the surgery (because people said it would not help) until I talked to the doctor a few minutes before surgery and we agreed on a plan. My guy is awesome. I'm at 95% no pain. I still have two months of recovery until I can swing a golf club.

I've lived in my lounge chair with ice packs for the last three weeks after the surgery.. It's ridiculous how much less the pain is......I hope it continues.

I'm still 75 days for clearance of doing actual realistic things.

Maybe I'll ride a bike again, I'm just happy to be out of pain. My Doc is Steven Weber - Orlando Orthopaedic

I hope this helps you

PM me if you want some more information

Hi Tim, hope your well, other than this back crap.

I post this for help if others want to do the surgery.

It' so much better now.

I recommend it - so far. I still have 8 weeks to go til I get clearance for golf.

I have the 3 week DR meeting today at 10am. The pain is gone. Loving it at this point.

Tarz, didn’t really want to put you on blast but you’re always on her complaining about can’t afford this can’t afford that. All good, tried to hook you up with some boots. You offered to pay shipping so I shipped em out 5/23. Do me a favor, take that $50 and hook up Collin (Flanard’s son) in Utah. Get em a toy or a moto shirt or something cool or maybe a gift card for the parents to get dinner or something. I’m sure you’ve seen the thread.

Yeh, just been speaking to a guy doing road racing! He says it’s about 2k for a good weekend in road racing. Not got that kind of money. I’ll probably try and delve into a few different avenues and see where I end up. I’ve started physio again, one last go to see if I can live pain free and get to some for or normality again working out etc.

Supermoto wheels are making me think, there’s a few hill climbs near to me I’d like a go at and entry fees are only £70.

If/when I sell my bike I’ll use the spare cash to get a e mtb for sure

Pick a nice 600, 750 or 1000 and enjoy the street rr's. Turbo rzr or the like for offroad fix
