The Shop
.
disperse those forces as it was designed to do.
No two crashes are the same.
Pit Row
Every time.
The take away form leatt's post - he had to hit really, really hard. When you watch those videos - it's quite obvious no one here would want a 5.5m/s impact to rigid surface in ANY helmet. Especially chin bar first.
If the helmet isn't destroyed - your brain and face will be. Energy is conserved - if none is absorbed by the helmet you get it all to the body.
Is there any video of the Brad Anderson crash?
There's some amazing tech in these new helmets and some of us seem to forget that there's been so much progress in design, materials and...MOST IMPORTANTLY...Testing.
On the hilarious side: the Genius Parade that runs their mouth on how worthless the Leatt is...because IT DOESN'T COST ENOUGH! ASS HATS...All!
Word to the cool kids with their 1990's brands that haven't changed their tech...legitimately; but, still charge you $700 for cool guy helmet that "so-n-so" wore back in the day. Those heavy POS's were cool way back when and they were even decent protection...
TWENTY YEARS AGO.
I -PERSONALLY- tested one...actually...TWO...of these new tech and materials based helmets the hard way...one high-speed fall in the Dez in 2017 and one low-speed fall during this year's 2019 450 Shootout...
Design Advancements and DOLLARS SPENT by Troy Lee saved me.
Period.
In the Hi-Speed case it was the Hi-Dollar Carbon SE4.
At the 2019 Shootout it was the Poly SE4.
Both crashes rang my bell pretty good. The Hi-Speed wrecked the liner...all the way thru all 3 layers at the "brow".
The low-speed was merely a few scratched on the shell.
TLD for life.
All the while, I'll be brutally honest about the 4-5 other brands that -also- make EXCLELLENT helmets for the money.
Leatt being one of them.

People buying better helmets.
