This deal came across my email yesterday. Does anyone wear a leatt 4.5? I am wondering how they fit and what head shape they cater too. Seems like a great deal that’s hard to pass up but what do you guys think?

If you personally trust their technology, then why not try it for that price. Seems like a good deal. Helmet looks great imo. If I didn’t full in Moro with it, I’d sure ride a pit bike with one. Just my .02

I just tried the 4.5 on tonight at redbull straight rhythm and found it insanely comfortable. Seriously considering picking one up myself, the rep they had there knew his stuff very well, and I’ve been a leatt fan for a long time.

I wear a Leatt helmet. I’m not sure of the model number, but it’s absolutely the most comfortable helmet I’ve ever worn. I bought a pair of them on clearance last year. Admittedly, it was a bit snug when I first got it, but after 2-3 rides and after the padding broke in it became incredibly comfortable. If it isn’t the lightest helmet made, it’s close. I remember comparing the weight of it to that new Fly lid and I think this one may be lighter. The venting may be second to none as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one, that’s for sure.

the new generation leatt helmets have fixed the padding issue, hands down lightest on the market and smallest shell size for rotational impact

I had the first generation carbon helmet and liked it... it fit a bit tight in the forehead area but I've had that issue with other high end helmets... it's my head, not the helmet is what I'm saying.

When I got the second generation carbon from Leatt, I thought they had custom fit it for me! It's light, comfortable and I trust their technology. I wear it for moto, off-road and snowmobiling. They make a cold weather plug set for the helmet and it's great for cold weather.

One thing I have noticed about Leatt, they don't just toss a product on the market to fill a hole or too copy another brand. All of their pieces are technically designed and well thought out. Honestly, it's a one stop shop for me now that they have boots and goggles.

Cole the 6.5 is light but even lighter is the Suomy MX Speed with MIPS at under 3 lbs. and the Airoh is just as light. All real good helmets.

I have heard nothing but positive comments about any Leatt product. Their helmets are known to be extremely comfortable and you know from a company like Leatt that the safety protection will be top notch

Can anyone comment on newer generation 5.5/6.5 helmets fit with larger goggles such as airbrake / prospect? Eye port looks small but Im thinking it has to fit fine since they produce their own 6.5’s that are larger as well.

Prospects fit perfect in 6.5.

The Kali Shiva 2.0 Carbon is 1050 grams, 2.3 lbs and smaller than the new Leatt, which is one of the safest helmets made.

I was thinking about getting one, but decided not to after reading Keefer's review on it. He confirms the aesthetic concerns i had when looking at it. The helmet just looks goofy/goonish to me.

Whats up with the gap above the goggles? And why do the google not fit the eyeport well?

And the weird looking chin bar?

Surely Keefer didn’t slag the helmet purely on looks? More vane than 10yr olds and Santa Cruz socks!
Personally i love the fit and look and theory of them.

I really just wonder how close the chin bar is to your face. I wear. TLD SE4 and love the fitment. I tried a fly carbon and felt the chin bar was too close. I wonder how this leatt fits?

I got my 6.5 I ordered in, and I have to say I didn’t like the fit. The medium I tried was too big, the small I ordered was too small, high pressure point in my forehead. Also couldnt got my goggles into it, as said in your review as well. I ended up getting a Bell moto 9 instead.

I bought a Leatt GPX 4.5 after going down hard in my TLD SE4 and it needing replacing.

They seem to have all the tech as the main expensive brands so seems like a bargain especially as I like to replace helmets anytime my head touches the ground. I haven't been on the ground with the leatt yet thankfully so can't comment on that.

But I do find the padding is lacking compared to the previous TLDs and FOxs I had. The lag of padding does irritate my forehead as the hard foam digs into it. The padding that is there is very thin and the foam within the helmet is extremely obvious to see which I found unusual.

But overall for the price its good and I feel safe in it.
