A friend of mine raced Vet Fest there last weekend. He said they put it in a huge roller before the leap that made doing it impossible. He also heard that its going to stay there because the FIM says its too big of a jump.

Anyone else go this weekend that has a pic or anything? Is it true?

I can understand it. With 250's and 450's on the track at the same time, it's both safer and fairer if no one can do the leap

That roller wouldn’t stop top 5 pros jumping it on a 450.

Looks to me like 450s could still huck that

Maybe with the current run up. But maybe not if they put the "hockey stick" section in that they run for the national.

He also told me they moved the starting line. FIM says it has to funnel into a right 180 degree.

So now the back of it faces west. Riders in the gate face East.

It was in the same place last weekend, but they announced they are moving it. They added a straight after the second turn (right before the drop off) that will be the pit lane with the big two story structure they use for GPs.

Eli, Barcia, Herlings, Cairoli were there?

I'm not talking about Michigan Vet pros. I'm talking top 450 Pros would not be hindered by that roller.

I would guess that it won't be the same. If they don't want them to jump the leap, they won't be able jump the leap

It may be hammered by Moto 3 but I agree. A 450 has the power to seat bounce that in the right hands. 250's will be stretching like Stew on the 125 if they even want to think about it.

If that is their intention they will make that hump larger or closer so nobody can jump it.

It's a shame but it's their rules and need it to be safe. If it stayed in, it would be a big advantage for team USA.

And for some that have not been there in a while, Larocco's Leap is not in the same place as it used to be. There is a set of bleachers in the old spot and the jump has been moved over to the left.

The top GP riders will huck anything a USA based rider will.

it's a bummer that the Leap doesn't fit the race the way the format is but it will be fine just the same.

This stuff stinks! They should make the run up to it easier so everybody can do it. Hell back in the day when they had a longer run up a good share of 125 pro's used to jump it. They might at well completely re configure that whole section of the track because watching everybody only doubling will be like watching grass grow. Also the start change is some seriously bogus crap also.

That video does the hump no justice. No one will do it if it stays like that

I agree for sure.

But aren't there some countries there with guys that are like B/C class level? I just envision the time when Stewy was so fast in the 125 class that he would just about run into the back of guys going 10 seconds a lap slower. Dangerous for all involved.

It was just put there for Vet Fest to prevent anyone from trying it. They announced several times during the event the hump would be gone for MXDN.

All is well in the world. The last time this topic was brought up, some of the people that would know commented that it's confirmed to be in for the MXoN. Here's a link to the other thread last time it was brought it, it's in the dumbgeon.

Every time there is a MXoN in America they tone down the track for the GP riders. It's BS. The Americans race the European tracks as is every year, so why do we have to accommodate them? If you don't have the stones to hit the leap then DON'T JUMP IT! That's how motocross works.
