With the demise of 2 tall racing my choice now appears to be limited to just modifying a bike as best I can for my extreme height.

What is the consensus on the biggest riding/fitting bike for the extra tall rider over the last few years or so?

The older kawi's were always considered 'big' in most reviews I've seen. Maybe a 2012 KX450?

18+ rmz with protaper bar clamps.

Im 6'4 and it's the best balanced and most spacious, easiest to stand up on that I've ever owned.

I would think any kawi where you can drop the pegs and move the bars forward.

Can you quantify "extreme height?"

6’9”
I am a danged midget compared to you sir.!
I’m always looking for short seats and starting blocks so I don’t fall over every time I stop. Lol.
Have you looked into arminas jasikonis setup In the MXGP’s? I don’t know how tall he is exactly but he is pretty tall.

I’m only 6’4” and I really like the Yamahas. Probably an unpopular opinion but I’ve not found the different brands to matter with comfort at my height. I get my suspension revalved with the forks stiffer then average for someone my weight/speed. Then the bike is ready to moto. You probably need a tall seat.

2006 to 2014 kx450f were on the "large size" It's a notable "complaint" from reviews for years

"How's the weather up there?"
"Wow, you're tall "
"How tall are you?"
"Do you play basketball?"

Never hear these enough I bet.

TM was best fitting to me. I had two of them. Too bad that they were unreliable and expensive to maintain. I am only 6,3"

Im 6'3 and rode Yam for years. Got a 2020 450sxf, did bar risers and lower pegs and I feel as comfortable as I can. The Yam was great expect I felt smooshed in my legs, almost like riding a sport bike. I read they raised the peg height on the newer models. Bummer for us tall guys but I get it.

I’m 6’3” or 4” and went from a 2017 CRF450R to a 2019 KX450 and I couldn’t be happier with the change.

How is the weather up there?: me: takes mouth full of beer and spit all over them, it’s fucking raining.

Wow you’re tall. Me: holy fucking shit, when did that happen?

How tall are you? Me: Tall enough so I don’t have to answer questions from short little fuckers like you.

Do you play basketball? Me: are you a jockey?

I'm 6'8" and also have this issue. I run 2" Rox risers on everything plus KX High Bends. I emailed Speed FX (Rox) recently to see if they would make a 4" riser for my KTM 950 and they quoted me $400! Guess I'll find someone to machine them. Tall seats can definitely make turning weird in moto, sometimes I leave the stock seat on so my weight is down lower. Been looking hard at the '19+ Kawi's.

TM 4-strokes, and pre-2019 2-strokes.

Larry450, what problems did you have with them? I’ve owned many, off and on from 2002 to 2020 and they’ve been great. Biggest problem I’ve had was a bad CDI on my 2002 and it was replaced for free.
