A new American youngster drifted into town this weekend – but Michael Leib will have to wait a week to make his GP debut for Bud Racing Rockstar Kawasaki after cracking the radius bone in his left wrist whilst practising on Tuesday.
The 18 year old from Temecula in southern California and father Don arrived in France last week and Bud staff had been impressed with his speed through several days of testing at their home base in Montmarcon until he suffered the fracture.
„The cast comes off on Monday, so I'll be OK to race in Spain next weekend," explained the 09 Loretta Lynns 250 Stock B champion. Until the Bud offer arose Michael had intended to start his Pro career at the Hangtown National "but I am now fully committed to the world series."
There will in fact be four Americans on the world scene at Bellpuig next week; Aprilia have confirmed that Billy Laninovich will race the factory 450 in Spain and at Glen Helen.
