Grant said on DMXS last night that he should be ready for the Glen Helen gate. There is only one problem. He doesn't have a ride yet!
Hoping to work something out with Yamaha, but nothing in writing yet. I know the economy is tough, but that guys deserves a ride.

Yes he does deserve a ride and a factory ride. He won Yamaha a title. I am thinking they will work it out.
The Shop
I don't think any of the teams argue whether or not, someone deserves it. And Yammie ain't arguing with Grant about his ride.
They are aguing salary.
If Grant wants to race, it's a done deal.
If Grant wants a million five, then maybe he ain't gonna get no ride.
IT should then go to JGR for SX only.
And DM would do well on Factory Connection or San Manuel...
Just my .02
Hell even a "Monster" supported deal!
But "Factory" he is to me. Yamaha should
back it up! Say, have a test day.........
Lap times against Hill, Hepler, & GL, & see
what's what. Though I'm a fan of both Hill & Hepler,
the latter has that "bull in a china shop" thing going
on, & "Dyno", his mechanic I believe is still there, so
why not. If not, maybe at least bikes, parts, suspension,
then again, a "Monster" thing! The Honda thing I really
don't see. i don't think their contracts are written in such
a way, where as "IT9", or "DM18" are replaced due to a lack
of "call it what you want" . But for GL, if his times are good,
then why not?

Let me let you in on a little secret.......lap times don't mean shit.
Especially in the case of a rider like Langston. Langston is a bull and he's a pusher. His lap times could be off until they drop the gate but by the time the checkers come 35 minutes later he'll be fast.
Check the SX series point standings for a more detailed analysis on lap times.
Jus' sayin'.
It's all about the salary, not about reality.
Pit Row
He'll know in two weeks HOW MUCH Keith/Yami can help.
I'd love to see a Grant have a yami factory supported deal of his own with Hamlin & Mitch Peyton on board.
Been on a program with GL.
"Lap times" do matter!
They're a tool, a gauge, no more no less!
"a slice of the pie"................
Pie's have many slices!

It would make me wonder if GL is a safe bet to stay healthy on his own.
There is no doubt the guy has skills but if he can't make it to the line then what good is that.
I wish it wasn't an issue but my gut feeling is it will be.
I don't think any are saying lets roll out the "Brinks" truck!
But again, anything can happen, that's a fact.
Anything can happen to others as well.
But again, evaluating the situation, in the field, through
testing, training, as the time goes on may just tell the
tale of the tape.........!
Also, though I've been around him to see him "tough it out"
through other issues, this is different big time!
Since it's a "vision deal", I don't think he'd try anything less
than feeling 100%. Shoulders, backs, etc., are one thing.
Vision, or lack of it 100%, is just to dangerous.
A "Champion" & a fighter he is, a stupid racer, no way!
