Sad to hear but I think Andrew should be hired to take over for Windham on the Geico 450.

v2.

Los Angeles, CA (January 24, 2013) – L&Mc Racing, LLC will regrettably cease team racing operations for the 2013 season, immediately, as the result of circumstances beyond the team’s control.

L&Mc Racing principals, 7-time Supercross champion Jeremy McGrath and Team Manager, Larry Brooks, as well as their rider Andrew Short, are committed to running a program with the utmost level of professionalism however, recent unforeseen events outside of the team’s control have prevented that from occurring.

Larry Brooks and Jeremy McGrath wish their friend and colleague Andrew Short, the best of success in 2013 as he continues on with his career. According to McGrath, “We did our best to keep Andrew out on the track but forces out of our control dictated that we conclude the season much earlier than we anticipated or planned. Andrew is a class act and we wish him success throughout the rest of the season and beyond with his new team.” Added Larry Brooks, “Andrew has proven himself to be a great rider over the years, and my hope is that 2013 be no different for him.”

Jeremy McGrath and Larry Brooks wish to thank the current L&Mc Racing sponsors, Chaparral, Honda, WPS, Bel Ray, MMI, FMF, ODI, Talon, Dubya, Matrix, and Ironclad for their tireless support, exceptional loyalty and unwavering commitment to the L&Mc Race Team.

Big time bummer. I hope you're right and he fills in the rest of the year at FC, seems like that would be a perfect fit.

"Andrew is a class act and we wish him podium success throughout the rest of the season and beyond with his new team.”

Sounds like he has already found a new team?

|

1/24/2013 10:56 AM

Sucks for Shorty. In a perfect world, he'd just jump over to the Geico ride, but I know it's not that simple.

|

1/24/2013 10:57 AM

sad to hear , no mention of chaparral in the pr either? the geico idea is good or even 22 but suppose that will all depend on honda stumping the up money , must be hard for andrew to keep his head clear with all this going on

Always a bummer to see this, especially in our sport.

Matthes' curse?

|

1/24/2013 10:58 AM

This supercross racing stuff is sure confusing this year. Who's on first?

It happens when sponsors dont live up to their agreements. If you think everyone in this industry beleives in standing behind their word you're wrong. Happens all the time, only now it is on a bigger and more public level.

Bad deal for everyone involved, mechanics, drivers, rider, owners, etc.

Also, with JDR in a similar situation, although because of different circumstances, it just shows how difficult it is to make a team work in the industry.

|

1/24/2013 11:02 AM

Hope all the other guys working there find a place to land as well.

|

1/24/2013 11:04 AM

Crap.

|

1/24/2013 11:04 AM

And you would think MC could pull major sponsorship.

Sucks for him because he IS supercross and the reason it is what it is today.

Shorty has a ride already, lets just hope he can find some balance this season.

|

1/24/2013 11:05 AM

Wow! That team has been on the edge of collapse for the last couple years.

So, how many teams folding this year ...

JWR
JDR
L&MC
?

|

1/24/2013 11:05 AM

Last year it was the riders making an exit. This year it's the teams. Wow.

|

If he ends up at Geico, he may dust himself off when this is done and look around and say "sweet!" Misfortune may work out really good for him in the end.

I blame 4 strokes and semis

Larry Brookes, "The team is fine. It's all just bad rumors."

|

1/24/2013 11:13 AM

Just imagine if Monster and Red Bull were no longer around. Just like alcohol and tobacco sponsors through the years, the dreaded bad for you energy drinks are starting to be exposed overseas.

Where will the money come from to run the SX series then. Hopefully there's more people dedicated to motorsports like the Lucas family out there.

|

1/24/2013 11:14 AM

Looks like 22 or Geico will have a new rider under their tent.

Sucks for Shorty. I hope he didn't get shafted in how this all played out.

Empty a bag of skittles into the toilet and then flush. It's like watching a five second long nascar race.

Standard.

Looks like there's room opening up in the front of the pits for some of the privateers and "lower tier" teams that have been banished to the back 40 because they weren't "professional" enough in their box vans and sprinters. whistling
