Was looking through the Wake-Up Call on Racer-X and noticed Kyle Peters is 7th place in MX1 points in the Australian Nationals. I try to keep up with all the series around the world, but haven't followed the Motul MX Nationals too closely, other than knowing Ferris is dominating.

What's the consensus on Peters results so far? I would've thought he'd be a little higher in the standings to be honest, but perhaps the MX1 field is deep this year. What are the thoughts from those who have followed this series closely this year - is Kyle having bad luck, or are his results pretty much where he should be given the talent in the class (and of course the "adjusting to life in a foreign country" thing, though he's really no stranger to living down under by now)

1st Dean Ferris 562
2nd Kirk Gibbs 487
3rd Kade Mosig 436
4th Todd Waters 421
5th Luke Styke 408
6th Luke Clout 378
7th Kyle Peters 371

Positively, absolutely 110% obsessed with anything MOTO.

I am a little biased as I know Kyle personally and we grew up in the same town and even dated his sister. I hope he can continue to build and keep putting in strong results. I am hoping he can follow the same type of path as ZO16. His heart is in it and extremely talented as most are in this sport. He just may have to work a little harder than other but hope he can get a US ride and rise to the top.

I don't know him personally but I've been following his journey over the years too since he's a North Carolina rider. He's definitely made big improvements over the years.

I'm paraphrasing here but he said in an interview that he expected to do much better (may have even said dominate) then went on to say tracks are different over here etc etc. Didn't seem to point to any one thing causing his worse than expected results though.

Yea, I believe I read the same interview where he talked about tracks being different (unprepped and often a few hours away), etc.
