So I’ve recently got myself a 1995 kx 250 evo and basically I’m only about 5’6 and weigh about 8 stone and I’ve been told that 56bhp for my weight is a crazy ratio and would be to powerful for me to handle round a track, I have thought about swapping it for a big wheel sx85/kx 85 or a 125 any ideas on this or thoughts would be very hepful

It was not 46 when new.

What is your current ride?

It made 42 HP when new and was a pretty good overall bike. I would try and swap for a 125 if you can. 112lbs is pretty light for a 250 2 stroke.

Don’t worry too much about the power, just take it easy until you are comfortable.. Get out and have fun!

At least try it before trading it. Keep a finger on the clutch and look far ahead. Don't override it at first.

I am on Vital every day but just don't post. I had a 95 KX250 that was a year old when I got it. I am 5'3" and 140 pounds. While I raced MX professionally in 1975, I was 39 when I had the KX and while it had good power, there is no reason to not ride the bike anywhere you want. The new 450's have a ton more power and even the 250f's are really quick. If you don't have a ton of experience, ride a gear higher than normal until you are comfortable with the power delivery. While I think riding a KX85 would be a lot of fun, it will be a lot more work and at the end of the day, you can crash anything if you try hard enough. Go have fun and be careful at first.
