Anyone that's purchased one willing to share what they paid? I feel like this potential purchase could give me some serious buyers remorse.
Price I have seen in Aus for the new E-5 is $8390 plus the cost of the charger, another $800, so looking at over $9000.
At that price it is hard to justify for a kid who is in his final year on a 50, if he was just turning four and we were about to get 4-5 years out of it, I could nearly justify it, after buying 1 mini 50 and 2 x 50SX in the past 4 years.
The Shop
I didnt know about the Beta. Do they offer lowering options?
I need the mini size seat height since my little guy is only 3. He is ok on the oset 12.5 for a little bit longer but he really likes his 50sx mini but he cant ride that one at home.
I dont get dealerships. I wish you could just get these things shipped to your door in the crate.
I drove 130 miles out of state to get one
The first two 50s I purchased did not come with an air-fork included, the 2019 I purchased a few months ago did.
Same with Yamaha and their original power tuner (Before it was an App), here you go, buy a bike that you can tune via a hand held power tuner, but first you will have to buy the Power tuner separately.
You can currently do this with Suzuki (For some reason it is not mentioned on a single review of the 2020 Suzuki RM-Z250 on any American site!) Suzuki now offers a Wifi power tuner, the current offer Suzuki Australia has with 2020 RM-Z250s is you get that included in the purchase.
Really it is like buying a toy that requires batteries, but not getting the batteries included.
competitive with the ktm, but it was 1/3 the price and comes with a spare battery.
Just trying to work out the difference in price from Aus to the U.S
The $8390 price here in Aus sounds rather pricey, especially if what I have been told about buying the charger separate is true.
I got my 19 50SX for a very good price from a local dealer, it was a run-out and there are plenty of 2020s around and I only paid $300 more than Wisconsenracer24 paid in the U.S
Considering the exchange rate the price I got seems very very good!
The difference between the U.S price and Aus price for the KTM E5, looks to be around $2200 - $2800 going by the couple of prices in this topic, even with the difference in exchange rate, that is a big difference.
I think the concept and the bike is awesome, I have seen one in action, may or may have not had a quick ride , They are a great thing, and if my son was 4 years old it is the path we would be taking, but for us with only 6 months left in the 50 class, $8,300 is a little to much to try and squeeze out of the bank lol.
Certainly keen to follow the progress of the bike and looking forward to hearing how they go for the guys who have purchased one who post here.
Pit Row
Will be good enough for a moto though, then go charge it
Workers on a golf cart had to bring him back when it died lol
it wont take long for that to be made up in lack of wear parts (as well as all the common mods. clutch/chain/sprocket/exhaust/engine mods/etc).
that of course will only last until there is aftermarket availability for the elec bikes...
Be made up in stators alone lol
It’s all good though. We still are racing pw’s, then have a husky tc50. Only reason we bought it is for LL’s next year. This isn’t a bike that you would want as a only bike.
My plan is on practice days, a moto on the electric and put it on the charger, then a moto on the tc50. Then back and forth etc
