Ktm 450 sfx shift lever seal

My ktm is leaking oil from the gear shift seal. Bike only has 24 hours on it I feel this is unusual but I need to replace I. Anyone have a good method of getting the seal out? I don't want to remove the case or engine cover. Is it correct or ok to pull the seal out using a seal puller?

It’s super easy, there are some videos on YouTube that help, but I used a wood screw. Threaded it into the metal casing of the seal like 2/3 turns. Tie a string to it, and give it a good quick pull. 2-3 times and it will be out. Just keep the screw away from the engine case...! Sounds tricky, but isn’t. I used the same technique on the countershaft seal as well.

I pre drilled a hole then used a metal screen. I tried to give it a quick pull a few times but the screw came out and the seal was still in there. I tried another hole but same results. So now I'm wondering how is the shop going to get it out? Do they need to remove the clutch cover, the case, etc?

I would suggest that the shop will pull the clutch cover, the shift shaft and then the seal.
Now that you have a hole in the seal, insert a small screwdriver in the hole and pop the seal out.

Easier said then done. I can get a screw driver blade under the lip of the seal but I don't want to leverage of the shaft to pry the seal out. Also as I get the corner of the flat blade screw driver under the lip the seal just keeps bending out and no movement on the seal. Is just the metal peeling up. Pain the the a$$

I got the new seal on but it stillleaks. Now I'm wondering if I have too much oil in the engine. While I had the seal out the bike was leaning to help from spelling oil, but the seal cavity or housing kept on filling up with oil. The leak before the seal change was no severe it would leak about a drop or so in a week while on the stand. While riding I don't see any drips on the case.
