I know most everyone here has there share of injuries and surgeries...here is my latest. According to my doctor, I've pretty much worn out my knees over the course of 42 years. The cartilage is gone in places.

The pain was getting too much, so they scoped both knees on March 5th. Fortunately all ligaments are intact. Unfortunately, they tell me I'll be up for replacements in 10 years or so. The right one is supposedly worse than the left.

Damn. when I was rehabbing there was a 60 yr old guy there who had just had both knees bi-laterally replaced. That looks like a serious rehab!!

Just like a sonogram of my kids, I have no clue what those pictures show. They look a bit like some deep sea coral or something.

Sorry to hear about the replacement looming but I'm sure I'll be right behind you in line.

I think most of us are in the same boat. Even though we joke about not riding, most folks here haven't spent their lives behind a keyboard. The knee joint gets brutalized.

I guess I'm lucky. The ligaments are stretched like crazy, but so far haven't had any serious damage.

PT is coming along, so it's all good. Hope to be riding in a month or so. With the nice weather, I'm really starting to get the itch.

Just don't let them put a scar right down the center of the kneecap. Damn thing smarts every time I kneel down on it. Makes working on stuff an absolute pain.

In 10 years the joint replacements should be pretty advanced, so I would just keep riding and worry about it when the time comes. I'm 33 now and had a total hip replacement when I was 26. I ride 2-3 times a week (track only) and my hip has been perfectly fine so far.

My buddy has that one...and it looks painful to deal with, with my ACL replacement you cant even see my scars anymore they are so small now days.

Good luck with your knees
